Throwback. Haven’t heard it in a while and gad if it still ain’t the heaviest thing.
-
Sadly I’ll be missing Russian Circles this Sunday at the Regent. Saw them there last year (or the year before?) and the sound at that venue was SONIC. Highly recommend catching them live if you can.

Went out to see Helmet last night. Didn’t make it in for the first band. Decided to give em a listen today. Now I’m super bummed I missed them. Singers voice reminds be of Kathleen Hanna a bit.
Bad ass Baltimore based punk band “War on Women”

@Mizmazzle How was Helmet? Page is the only original member correct? Used to love those guys back in the day; John Stainer was an absolute beast!!!
-
@Nostradamion they were damn good. I was waffling on going to that show so I’m really I did go. Yeah, Page is the only OG member left. But the other guys have been in the band for quite awhile now. Their other guitar player was impressive.
-
@Mizmazzle Nice!! Glad to hear they still sound good. I'll have to check and see if they're coming through my neck of the woods anytime soon and go check them out as it's been forever since I last saw them.

These guys are from my home town along with Sleep and High on Fire. They put out one album. I used to go see them all the time. Nice guys. There was a pretty good scene from mid 90's to early 2000's.

Sounds like a cool town.
-
@Bridger it was awesome.
-
@jpvisual High on Fire are one of my favourite metal bands.
I consider them to be a love child of Motorhead and Sabbath.
They should go down in history as one of the greats. However, I don't think their studio albums deliver what you get when you see them live, which is a sledgehammer to the face in the best possible way.
Coady Willis is beast and a great fit for the band. I can't imagine how many calories he burns per gig - he must carb load before a show.
-
@Bridger totally. Great band.
-
Seeing a Celtic Frost post reminded me to check out Tom Fischers original band - glad to see their musicianship improved slightly! Used to live this when I was a kid.

@Tago-Mago Yes but my tastes have mellowed as I have aged!
