But, because the rise is higher than the rise on the 634S, the waist band sits higher up Tinmans torso. i.e more on the waist than the hips….Tinman is one of those lucky individuals whose waist is smaller than his hips....
Oh, that's interesting, hope I got the right size, then. They should be here by the end of the week, will post updates.

Hey guys, JUST got home and am troubleshooting some work stuff while I'm typing this but I promised fit pics!
Sorry for the sloppy shirt tuck on the shot of the rear.
Impressions in a minute, have to get some work done.

Overall I think it's a fantastic jean but I don't think this fit is for me. I had forgotten how awesome it was to receive a pair of raw denim from IH
I thought that I wanted a wider thigh, but these made me realize how much I like the thigh fit on my 634S (http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=293.msg99632#msg99632). The rise is a bit higher than I'd like as well.
I guess, in short (sorry, I'm typing while I've got 10 people talking to me over my headset), if you need a looser fit than the 634S, and you like a higher front/rear rise, this is your jean.
Sorry Giles, but I think I'm going to send these back
Good news for those of you that wanted a size 34
I'm now planning on saving for the 25oz 634S when it comes out

seriously paul i think it looks great and coming from a guy that is trying to get hold of that size you know i am telling the truth.
it looks like how a 55 should be. remember its still ridged and will settle down and soften with wear so it doesn't seem so boxy which is what i think your worried about. look at the back pocket of your old 634s, see how much that has shaped to your body compare to the new. the same will happen with this pair if you do give it a chance.

Haha, I appreciate your honesty in light of your wanting a pair
I think I know what you're saying, but I could tell with the 634S right away that I loved the fit. While I love the color of these (they seem darker than the 634S were brand new) and the feel and heft, I just don't love the fit on me. I bet a lot of you will. Actually I'm willing to bet that I'll be one of the very few that returns a pair, as I think most of the other people who bought them knew exactly what they were getting.
Another thing that I just realized, as I'm mulling over your comment, but after trying them on, I realize how much I do like the 634S fit. I only need one everyday pair of jeans and if I were to keep the 1955S, I would really have to sell the 634S or else I wouldn't wear either enough to warrant the expense (especially since I just picked up a pair of 801s, too!), and I like the 634S too much to part with them.
I feel really bad about returning them
But I'll be happy if it means one of you guys who really wanted a 34 can pick them up!

These arrived yesterday and i'm in them as i type.Fantastic quality as ever.
I really like the cut of these..as has already been said, they're a true 55,sitting higher than the 634 on the waist - mine are getting close to belly button level - which may not be for some but i really like that style.
Only on day 2 but they certainly live up to expectation so far.I'll have a go at fit pics at the weekend…there seems to be a distinct lack of photographic evidence that they're out there... -
Jimmy, you will be gald to hear I am taking the 33…. in fact I might just get another pair. the 34 is all yours!! now you can put up some fit pics.
This may help some other people...... I never ever size down I am always a size 34 or 35 on low to medium rise jeans, I have never owned a high rise jean like this. The 34 fit good but we all know 21oz stretches to your body. My hips are bigger then my waist (belly button) because the high rise lands on the waist(just below my belly button) and not the hips the 33 fits better. The full cut seat gives my hips and thighs more then plenty of room. The waist feels just snug enough to stretch perfect with wear.
Hope this helps someone.

Totally having second thoughts on returning these. I tried them on again this morning and liked them a lot more
Will decide by Monday!
634s are very suitable as everyday pair of jeans. 1955s cut are something more refined. Better get used to the idea having two pair of jawnz… you are in good company!
