Leather Preservative Experiment
-
I'm going to withhold judgment until the pieces get cleaned and Giles bends them a few times. The untreated one is cracking, which doesn't bode well, and the olive oil one looks like it's starting to develop mold.

The suspense is killing me! I just read this whole thread, and being an LP user but liking the looks of the Mustang Paste sample slightly more, I'm curious to see which piece of leather is the "healthiest".

Great thread. Just read front to back. I use LP on boots, but leave belts natural. Can't wait to see how they bend. Crazy experiment.

Same I just read the whole thing,
really want to see how they look after the drying!
My fav at the moment is probably mustang paste, -

A quick word on the mustang paste. I had just applied it to my IH-CCH and had set it on the kitchen window sill to dry. My wife was washing dishes and accidentally got it wet. I guess I realized it only a short while later and I was surprised to see the water beading up like it would on a freshly waxed car. After drying it, I didn't see any water marks at all. I've also applied to it an older Goro's coin wallet and it has really refreshed the leather. With a little beeswax, the thing looks almost new.

I'm just gonna go ahead and bump this thread.

Samples still outside, or did you bring them in after that last update? Just curious…
