IHSH-302-IND - Ultra Heavy Flannel Western Shirt - Buffalo Check - Indigo

Preferences, I guess.
Preference should win at every turn. I din’t know if there is some Reddit thread or GQ article that espouses the «proper way», but what ever looks and feels good to the individual is the right way imho.
I enjoy looking at the .jp crew IG accounts. They wear theirs all kinds of ways. Haraki-san’s favourite is just buttoning the second button down from the top.

chadingsworth can you cross your arms over your chest and touch the opposite shoulder? Can you touch your toes? If both of these are easy then the shoulders are fine.
The chest looks fine to me.
You won’t get any noticeable shrinkage in the chest and shoulders.
The sleeves look good. There are already some creases so you won’t lose too much length when washing.
It looks a bit long in the front but it could be because you are leaning forward. You will get about a 2cm shrinkage in length with a 30deg wash on the gentle cycle.
I would advise against sizing up. If you do, it would be too long and too wide at the waist.
Check and check. I am able to easily do both, but notice the slightest amount of resistance touching shoulders at the same time (unlike a denim jacket I have that I notice pronounced resistance).
Appreciate the thoughts. On all accounts the fit is great minus the tiny pucker on the first snap. I think the length might also appear a tad long due to the camera being lower propped up on the bed lol. And the larger size (besides the shoulders) seemed too big in each measurement.
The medium will stay! Can't wait to fade this bad boi and my first IH piece, long overdue!

I’m a big fan of how “light” and soft this UHF feels.
Copped an XS in this. Ended up chopping a few inches off and popped the bottom button to have it look more like a shirt rather than a flannel dress then gave it a hot wash to tighten it up and give the hems that puckered look I love.
Fit pics.
Note - I typically wear my shirts unbuttoned so the side profile & back photos are of the shirt unbuttoned.

stunning @RoxRocks86 as usual!

@RoxRocks86 between you and @Filthy –-the two mad scientists
Customizing your gear like that is pretty damn impressive.
Big fan of those Vans too!--nicely done -
Looks great @RoxRocks86 and those XHS
-
FFS @RoxRocks86 you're not making it any easier to resist this shirt. Straight up , you have the best style.
-
@RoxRocks86 wow that looks incredible!! This post is making me really want to pull the trigger on this…
-
You will not regret it @ Paymar. It definitely feels different than the other UHF's.
-
Thank you all ️️️
You got some mad skills to chop these flannels! Lookin’ good
Just mad, no skills
@Paul9221 @Jcaz6996 thanks, denim is 21oz in the 777 cut. They will be hitting the 4 yr mark in about 4 months
@jerkules @paymar I can only cheer you on to pull the trigger if your size is left who can resist an indigo dyed UHF by your favorite makers? Think of the long run of how this will age and fade as you wear it each season.

I've got the IHSH-247 in indigo . . .same blue buffalo check. Trying to convince myself I don't need this UHF. But the will power is starting to fade.
Anyone else have the 247 and this UHF and can comment if they're not totally redundant.
-
I dont have the 247 to compare. All i can say is, that the evo on this will be different , being indigo. Different and more fade potential with age. What i can tell you is,that the fabric feels different than the rest of my UHF shirts in a good way. Feels slightly thinner although its the same weight, but more luxurious. I also like the fit on this one. From my experience at list it seems slightly trimmer
-
I guess by weight going from 9oz to 12oz represents a 25% difference in heft?
@GregO if you find that they are redundant and you're a Large I might be interested in picking up your 247. 9oz is also a really nice flannel weight.
Meanwhile I too am struggling with temptation on this one. IH ordering so many larges of UHFs has been a struggle for me
-
Compared to the other 12oz UHF i have, they seem to be slightly lighter in weight, but also softer. In terms of sizing, they seem to be a tad more snug than the sames size in other UHF.'s. In all honesty i went crazy this year. I missed out on the purple , wasn't quick enough to pull the trigger and got pissed off. So end up byuing the Green , red check, Yellow and Buffalo blue. Yeap lost my mind. In any rate, although all 4 are 12oz UHF's the blue buffalo feels slightly lighter, softer and just a little tighter than the other 3. All 4 are size 4xl. 2 of them Westerns and the other 2 the work shirts.
-
@GregO they are not completely redundant. Ones a lightweight flannel made of regular cotton and one feels almost twice as heavy and is made of aspero cotton that's indigo dyed. The color is not close either. This is way more Indigo. If you like UHFS, this one is neat because the fabric is not brushed as much as usual.

@Filthy - Thanks, much appreciated. Those pics sealed the deal.
(my wallet shall never forgive you)
