IHSH-317-YEL - 9oz Selvedge Ombré Check Work Shirt - Yellow
-
Could not be happier with this shirt..the color and the fabric are above and beyond my expectations. The only other IH flannel I own is a UHF, and I was a bit concerned with how heavy these would be still at 9 oz, but it's a night and day difference in that it feels so much lighter. One surprise was the size of the buttons: they are smaller than I had been thinking, because I was comparing them to the IHSH 305 which is a much beefier shirt.
FYI, both this and the blue came in at 22.5 inches P2P for size XL: slightly less than the advertised measurements but a difference that works in my favor, fortunately.

@Jbailla2 thats looks a stellar shirt and fit bro ! Congratulations man!

@Dr.:
After I posted I went right to the page to order it, but the larges are out of stock now, but I appreciate the attempt.
That can lead to feelings, I know. Sometimes conflicted, but rarely good [emoji23]
Aaaaaaaaand it's back in stock. Dammit. I now own both.

So… question about this guy. For those of you who've seen it in person, what photos do you think are the best representations of the yellow? Is it bright / loud, or a little earthier / more muted?
I'm really loving the way this shirt looks and am seriously thinking about grabbing one, but I'm just at a loss when it comes to how they actually look. My skin's pale and cool-toned, so bright yellow is really just not my color. I'm already enough of a pasty ghoul, don't wanna wash myself out even more
-
I’d put it in the earthy category.
-
@popvulture it's hard to say which picture best captures the colour - it's definitely yellow but not too yellow. The truth is once you have one you really won't care if you look like a pasty ghoul!
-
Hahaha noted! Thanks gents
-
@popvulture I would also say that it's definitely in the more muted/earthy/mustard/gold range of yellow. I would not say it's a bright yellow. I also have a hard time pulling off brighter yellows because of my skin tone but this one idoes not fall in that category and it looks great on me in my opinion.
I feel like Ollys fit pic on the first page of this thread and dbrauns fit pic on page 5 of this thread are the closest representations of how this color looks in person.

Thanks @manufc10 — that is very helpful, and good to know. I like the vibe in both of those pics. Some of the sellers out there got really wacky with their photography and/or post processing.
-
You're welcome. I agree with your comment regarding some of the sellers and their photography of this one.
-
Was just coming in here to say the same. Olly's pic on the post with the staff sizing is a good representation.
-
I unfortunately tried this on on a whim at Self Edge on a trip up to LA. The fabric is really awesome. Even my wife conceded it was probably a good buy. Made the decision on the way back home and took advantage of the Good Art buttons on the IH website. Size Large if anyone's curious.

@3lli0t that single Gah nip looks sick mate good idea

So sad I missed the IHSH-317-YEL work shirt! I managed to pick up a IHSH-317-IND so I'm excited for that.
The close up / macro shots of these shirts looks absolutely stunning! Every shirt I've had before have been printed designs so I'm really looking forward to seeing these in person with their colored yarns.
I haven't really worn much yellow tees/shirts before, however I think this yellow ombré check looks to die for.

Didn’t take myself for a work shirt-kind of a guy, but this one changed everything. Very nice. Indigo and yellow goes together so well. And the measurements and the fit, best.
Only thing that I have to give some feedback is that the top button came loose very fast. I had to reinforce it so it wouldn’t fall off someday -
Welp couldn’t wait any longer for the western, so i tried the work shirt this time around and I’m glad I did. This shirt ended up being part of my first day as a dad outfit one day once she’s grown I will pass on this flannel to her that I wore during her first day of life
