IH-888S-SLB - 16oz Slubby Selvedge Denim Relaxed Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
They look cracking, but I've only recently got a pair of the 21oz 888s that I'm still more than happy wearing. Glad to see that they will be in continuous production though so I can circle back once the 21oz are nice and beaten up.
For those that have these jeans in the cuts that released earlier, if I get to the summer and find I need a lighter weight pair for those months, what are people's thoughts between the 16oz slubby fabric, and the 14oz fabric? I was also thinking of getting the 14oz 888s in the IND/BLK for those high contrast fades, but the slub fabric is seriously tempting…

I don’t understand.
Basically, I want, but I don't need. My 21oz jeans are just so damn good that I don't need another pair of jeans in my life right now.
Now if I can manufacture a reason for myself why I both want and need, then I can get them sooner… So I was thinking to myself "y'know I bet that 21oz will be too much in the summer, maybe I'd better get a pair of 16oz to just bring things down a tad when it gets warm"... And maybe someone on here with experience could go "yessir, you are right, buy them".

Climate change is real. You never know what it’s going to be like from one day to the next. Having at least one pair in every weight available, and in each color, is really the most practical solution. Just having one pair is basically admitting that you hate the environment. And puppies.

Added to the wishlist. Still hrmming and harring over weight. Might come down to which jeans are at greater risk of going out of stock sooner when I come to it. Cheers!

@Corko man I’m debating on ordering these or the 14oz. Decisions. AZ is hot as hell in the summer time

I haven't worn jeans in a decade and have decided to switch and pick up this 'hobby'. For my regular rotation I've recently got the IH-888S-142 and IH-888S-142bb, and today just got the IH-888S-SLB, I might finish things off with IH-888D (when they restock).
The slubby is quite unique! There's more of a difference than I was expecting. It's stunning to look at. Definitely stands as distinct item in the rotation, rather than just a slight variation (how I'd expect indigo/black to be).
The slubby "came out of the box" much more pliable/flexible than the others, though I have no idea what to expect after some wear. The listing says it's "incredibly soft" and it really does feel like it, even at 2oz heavier.
Some people might not lack the patch, it is different, but I really like it.

Mine arrived today……. (Fantastic hemming service and oh so speedy) Exceeded expectations, the slubbiness makes them look really rough but they are already quite soft, so they’re very comfortable.
Was quite surprised at how heavy they actually seem in hand.
I too like the patch, it’s at least different.Maybe the honeymoon period but these are strong candidates for my favourite jean, well so far this year anyway.

Damn, that is quite a big difference when you put them next to jeans with a regular weave. Good pics.
I only have a pair of the 21oz 888s from IH and I was shocked at how soft they were straight out of the bag. I think it must be an IH thing, other brands I've tried have been nowhere close even at much lighter weight denim.

Does anyone know why the waist measurement at Selfedge is an inch smaller than what’s on this thread? Was going to order from SelfEdge because it’s close but was a little concerned that the sizing is different. I really can’t see why it would be but just thought I’d check. Thanks

Self edge measures the waist differently. They should be from the same batch of jeans, so if you’re used to IHUK measurements go by those, or use self edge’s measuring guide to figure out your size.
