IH-555S-19L - 19oz Left Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans
-
Interested in this one possibly for iiy5 but I’m typically a 666 guy, never tried this cut.
I currently have a 666 UHR and 21.
I’m typically a size 35 or 36
Honestly the measurements aren’t all that different aside from a slight taper at the knee.
Question, does this cut work with Mr. Lou’s?
How’s the top block on this cut? I always feel like I could use a bit more room.
Thanks. -
@Davids_denim I think the top block of the 555 is roomier than the 666.
-
I would say so too . wearing both in rotation at the moment.

@T-J nice! Excellent shot!

Just got my pair freshly hemmed by IH UK! Thanks to @Freeman for helping me with the process and the right size. I am very stoked, they are noticeably slimmer over all than my 555 xhsbb in the same size. Also I am surprised that they don't feel as rigid and stubborn as I expected from the many postings about lefty denim. Can't imagine the break in being too hard.
-
@FlavourFade Hell ye, man!
These look great.
-
@Freeman thanks !! When I tried them on they felt like they were too small tbh and very tight in the knee/ thigh region but looking at the pictures and a second try on this morning confirmed that they are perfect and just need a proper break in to mold to the body. Also the measurements of the xhsbb in the 555 cut seem to be a "whim of nature" compared to other 555.
-
Breaking them in while my xhsbb ist drying. Amazing denim. Feels very different compared to my 19 oz lefty overdyed jacket.
-
Can anybody say something about how much they stretch or give in with wear? Wore Mine for only three days yet (still trying to wear the xhsbb as much as possible) but they still feel a lot tighter than my 555 ducks which have about the same measurements besides a significantly higher rise and two inches more in the waist. Kneeling down feels like I am ripping the jeans apart
-
@FlavourFade . This is not a fabric that gives as easily as the 21oz or even the 25oz. It will give but it will take lots of wearing and persistence. I don't think you will get the same amount of stretch as you would with the 21oz per day. It will also soften up considerably but again needs lots of wears
-
@yannis yeah I don't know if it's the tighter waist or the lower rise that makes them feel tight even just walking around. My other 555 cuts don't feel that way. Maybe should have sized up, I don't know.
-
@FlavourFade I wear 555’s, mostly 34 tags and all have roughly the same measurements & fit feel.
My 555 19L (which are my only 36 tag size) however are for sure a different fit. More like a 777 low rise top block on 555 lower.
In comparison to my other 555’s a big difference is the rear pocket size (about 2cm shorter in length) and the distance of the top of the rear pocket to patch (again about 2cm shorter).
They took me a bit to get used to but they look OK and the denim is awesome so I’m happy to have them in rotation and experience the nuances of lefty denim. -
@FlavourFade. Are the measurements similar with your other 555's? You cannot always go by tag size as sometimes the cuts have different measurements. For example I can wear tag 36 and tag 38 depending on measurements. Now the fabric is glorious and it will give younsome awesome fades.
-
…not only cuts, but also individual production runs. If I bought a pair of jeans 2 years ago and they released them again today, the sizing may be different enough I would need to change tag sizes.
Then there’s always a pound or two weight gain/loss that throws a money wrench into the works as well.
As stated a million times on here, always check the products release measurements chart to ensure you’re picking the best fit for you currently. Compare that with your ideal measurements keeping in mind that they may change over time.

Thanks guys @yannis @IH-GARY @goosehd
I sure checked the measurements and talked to the guys from hq... I am not a newbie to IH and raw denim
The measurements taken by me are very similar besides a slimmer waist and lower rear rise. But it still feels more restricting. Anyway I just keep wearing them and maybe add something a little more relaxed to the rotation in the future.
