Sorry about that Giles. Glad to be here. Just got done with the wash, went for the warm gentle cycle, hung them to dry about 10 ago.
-
@Tappan Cornmesser welcome to the forum and congrats with your purchase! You went right away with this beast! Soaking and washing is mandatory for this pair so you did nothing wrong with that. For as long as you took the waist-size you were looking for i wouldn’t be that afraid for the shrinkage. Waist will stretch back to pre soak dimensions. For the hair conditioner, i would skip that part the next time soaking/washing is more for the agitation of the denim to settle the threads etc. let them dry, pull them on show the fit here as you like and rock them hard! Enjoy them and cheers.

Hey man I appreciate the kind words, I have went a bit crazy with purchases lately lol.. Jumped right into these guys and glad to hear I didn't mess anything up. I'll post pics in the next couple days. Again thank you for the reassurance. Cheers

Don't brain it too much man. IH makes some tough ass product. The only think i can suggest to you is to only wash them inside out all the time and you will probably avoid some marbling or streaking of the fabric that can happen some times. Other than that IH heans are not meant to be babied.

Any people that wear 666 or 555 did you order 634 in same tag size as 555/666 or sized down for 634?
-
Hello.
This is a brand new 634 UHR in tag 34. Did the hot soak and gentle hot wash with no spin. Waist feels snug enough. Took me sometime to button it up. What do you think about the fit?
Would you go tag 33? I am asking because I was in between tag 34 and tag 33 but I feel that tag 33 if not possible would be a real struggle.
-
@George-Homme it looks a good fit to me George, I don't think you'd wanna go any smaller in the waist.
-
@George-Homme wouldn’t go smaller man!
-
I'm in need of some help from you guys. My perfect, comfortable waist size is 80 cm and looking at the measurements and the expected shrinkage, should I go with Tag size 31 that has around 83.3 cm waist and expect a warm wash do the shrinkage to about plus or minus 81 cm? Is my assumption correct?
-
@the246guy In my case i tried to land 1 inch below my TTS waist measurement after Soaking. If your comfortable waist size is 80cm shoot for a pair with 81cm Waist. After Soaking it will land around 78-79cm and will expand to 80cm by wearing it.
-
@George-Homme Thanks for the suggestion. I will get my pair from IH Germany and I have already asked them to measure a Tag size 31 and Tag size 30 for me. So let me see if I can get one.
-
@the246guy agree with @George-Homme they will stretch back to pre-soak within a few wears, tight in the beginning but will stretch! I skipped that part and went with a little more room in the waist but that’s on a 555 so apples and oranges
-
@Heavy_blue What was your experience? Did you size up and end up having more room that needed? Could you please elaborate? Waist 80 is the perfect size for me, my 666 HHR and the 634 14 oz are my most comfortable pairs ever and that translates to more wear time. So I do not want to make any mistakes with my next pair. So if I get you correct, I'm better of getting Tag size 30 as it has 80 cm waist which will shrink after a hot soak, but will stretch to pre-soak measurement. Correct?
-
@the246guy i’m a 87,5 waist and went with a 89,8cm and they didn’t end up to big but like i said that’s different in a 555 then a 634. Also i don’t like my waist snug or tight i like a relaxed kinda fit but can wear it without a belt.
-
The question is did that 89,8 waist shrink and then stretch back to 89,5. UHR is UHR, does not matter if 634 or 555.
-
@the246guy I really recommend you contact the IHUK crew at the shop for sizing advice. Here is the email for them: shop@ironheart.co.uk
-
@the246guy don’t wanna be a show off but a tad relaxter waist on a 555 is totally different then on a 634 where the total look is different then on a super slim fit. Yeah they stretched back but not beyond that. But i would follow @goosehd his advice and drop the guys a email
