IronStomach, as one fellow cycles to another, I feel the beefy thigh pain.
A pair of Sz 36 based on your measurements will give you a fitted look. Your thighs will fit, with about 2" to spare. Maybe a bit of buttoning up pain to begin with. They will stretch 1-2" easy over time (a month of 'work').
A pair of Sz 38 will fit straight away and will end up an inch or 2 wider in the waist. This would be a relaxed fit, at best.In your position, I'd like go the Sz36's and work through the 1st month and have a really nice pair of fitted, but not tight, jeans. YMMV.

Hey folks! Sorry for another sizing question, but I've read through the thread and my situation's different from most. I measure a 37" waist at jean height, but I've also got pretty beefy thighs from cycling/martial arts, about 25" around. My question is, will a size 36 fit a 37" waist with enough room in the thigh/crotch area? Would a size 38 be too loose? I know they stretch nicely, just curious if anyone out there has a similar build.
Thanks!
36

IS, I used to have nearly the exact same measurements. I went with a 38, and it was a mistake. Go with the 36. It may be slightly uncomfortable for a couple weeks, but the end result will be a perfect fit.

Cool. Thanks all, just wanted to get some more opinions. Updates to follow!

Hello, I'm looking at buying 634S very shortly but I'm not sure on the length. The jeans that I'm currently wearing are at 34". There is some stacking on the front but maybe one crease on the heel. Should i just order them with the 35" and see how they are. I don't want them to be long to where I'm stepping on them when I'm not wearing shoes.
Thanks for your help everyone.

5'11"/6' foot with about a 33" inseam
-
I'd say to hem 1-1.5 inches off of them. I'm the same height, and I chose to leave the original length on mine. They've gotten sort of chewed up in the back because they drag.
-
Thanks Chris, the 34" i have now don't drag but i measured a different pair and those are 35" and those drag alittle bit and go under my foot.
Whats your inseam?
-
About the same- usually around 33-34". Back when I bought mine, Giles didn't offer hemming, so I just left them full length, rather than sending them off to someone else to do the work. I won't do that any more- I like to make Giles work extra for my cash.
-
Thanks Giles.
but are you saying that so you don't have to work.
-
I just wanted to say that, after lurking here for awhile and reading all about sizing and whatnot, I pulled the trigger and bought a pair of 634s' from Self Edge's online shop. They arrived today and I put 'em on about two hours ago. I don't want to put on a different pair of jeans or pants ever again.
Great fit. These things are incredible.

^Congrats, RedOak… Yeah, IH specializes in ruining other brands forever.
They certainly do. I take delight in IH. Nothing does, can, will come close to it. Only well made things endure, this is Iron Heart.

i found the original length of my elephant 2. they were 34" new. Since this would be my first iron heart denim im going to ask Giles to ship the shortest ones they have. I don't want to be stuck with jeans I can't return. And if they are too long i could just send them somewhere to get hemmed.

Hi everyone I am new to this forum but not new to ironheart. I have a pair of 634s that I've been wearing the past 6 months and I think that it is getting ready for its first wash. How much shrinkage if any, can I expect for the inseam? I have the jeans hemmed to the perfect length and want to avoid shrnkage there if possible. Would hanging the jeans upside down to dry help?
