^Congrats, RedOak… Yeah, IH specializes in ruining other brands forever.
They certainly do. I take delight in IH. Nothing does, can, will come close to it. Only well made things endure, this is Iron Heart.

i found the original length of my elephant 2. they were 34" new. Since this would be my first iron heart denim im going to ask Giles to ship the shortest ones they have. I don't want to be stuck with jeans I can't return. And if they are too long i could just send them somewhere to get hemmed.

Hi everyone I am new to this forum but not new to ironheart. I have a pair of 634s that I've been wearing the past 6 months and I think that it is getting ready for its first wash. How much shrinkage if any, can I expect for the inseam? I have the jeans hemmed to the perfect length and want to avoid shrnkage there if possible. Would hanging the jeans upside down to dry help?

(and to explain Sanforization, if curious 1fookntitefd (interesting handle!) check out http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=4550.0 by Giles explaining it)

I need a little sizing advice. I wore my 634S in 34 for the first time yesterday and again today. When I put them on, they fit in the waist about perfectly. What I am wondering is, if they fit perfectly right now should I sell them and get a 33? I know they will relax some in the waist. Any advice would be appreciated.

They'll stretch in some, but not as much as a pair sized down. Essentially the more stress put on the fabric the more it will stretch. There are plenty of people on this board that will advise you not to size down. I'd wager there are at least as many who'd advise you to size down. Sorry if it doesn't make three decision any easier for you. A pic might help with the advice.

How tight are the thighs? Sizing down you're going to lose ~1cm around the thighs.
Honestly they look pretty good to me. They're not a relaxed/loose fit, and will stretch a little, to make them a bit more comfortable but will never become baggy.
Sizing down I think you'd likely have troubles in the waist for a long time, and may have thigh issues.
IMO stick with the 34's, and enjoy in good health.

Thanks for the advice. The thighs are about perfect, so that was a concern as well.

you already answered this all by yourself btw.:
@Silvertree:… When I put them on, they fit ... about perfectly...
why you want to change that? a tagged 33" waist would be too small anyway imo!
-
Silvertree, I agree with the comments, above. You chose wisely. 34 is the right fit.
Congrats on your first pair of IHs. Having just traveled to ND, for the first time, a couple months back; heavyweight denim is absolutely essential in your weather. If I lived in ND, I would seriously consider a IHM-03 as well.

I was a little worried that when the waist relaxed they be too big. I feel better now. Thank you, everyone, for the advice.

Thanks, man. I love these jeans and they haven't even begun to break in. I can't wait to see what they are like down the road.
The weather does get cold here, that is for sure. If I am outside, I usually wear a base layer underneath, but I will take a look at the 03s! Glad you were able to escape without freezing to death.

^Haha. Thanks. I enjoyed the trip, though. Loved all the open space. My sister goes to UND; so I'm looking forward to revisiting someday and going to a Fighting Sioux Hockey game.
Again, enjoy your 634s. They really do get better everyday.
Thank you!
We normally have a good hockey team. That is crazy you have actually been here.

I washed mine Friday. Absolutely no shrinkage to speak of.
The waist was tighter for about 30 minutes and they've stretched back out and are now the exact same. Also all the creases reset in the same places.
Thanks guys… Does it make a difference whether I machine wash or hand wadh?
