IH-634S - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Maybe my favorite fitting pair of jeans I've ever had.
-
@guiltyparty I can see why, they look great on you!
-
Just got them back from the tailor, trying no cuffs for 2024.
-
Pulled the trigger on the 634s after correspondence with people from this forum and the team itself. Need thoughts on it. I believe it has taken the spot for my best fitting jeans.
-
@LibagBall0105 they look great to me
-
They look great @LibagBall0105 but most important is that you like them. 634 is just a brilliant cut. Harakis masterpiece.
-
@LibagBall0105 the fit is good, if it were me I would do a hot soak with lots of agitation to take care of potential shrinkage and then get them hemmed for a single cuff or no cuff.
-
@Palmer i realized I may have posted under the wrong product, these are the 21oz 634s. Do I still need to soak them?
-
@LibagBall0105 moved to the correct thread.
-
@LibagBall0105 it wouldn’t hurt but the 21oz denim is sanforized and one washed so you’d only get a minimal
amount of shrinkage. Maybe .25-.5 inch. You’re probably safe just getting them hemmed to whatever length you prefer as is.

Went with my true waist of 30 same as my 634Z.
Hope they loosen up well, not sure…I didn’t want to size up on waist as I didn’t want the waist to stretch even more.. fabric feels nice, maybe they’ll be ok in a week??
Maybe I should have gone with a bit of my hip measurement instead and the 31 or 32 would have been better..
-
@cherniy for future reference, always go with garment measurements and compare to measurements of garments you own. You’ll likely find that your 634Z had bigger starting measurements than you new pair.
They will stretch in the waist 1-1.5”. The top block and thigh look tight and they won’t so much stretch as loosen up. So after that it is personal preference and levels of tolerance for discomfort.
At 50 I can’t be bothered with discomfort anymore
-
@neph93 yeah I reckon I should have taken into account that my well fitting 3sixteen jeans have a higher rise so the measurements to the 634s aren’t a good comparison. I’ve obviously got wider hips heh
-
I agree with neph93. Hips and upper thigh look a bit tide. I think tag 31 maybe a better option but again it all depends on your tolerance level.
-
Yes, I suppose if I were to do it again, I'd go with a 31 or 32.
-
I've got a pair of 888-21s in 34 and was thinking about picking up a pair of 634 for that straight legged vibe. Any advice on what size to get in comparison with the 888? My only concern is the thigh measurement because I don't really want the hips any tighter than the 888s are. Anyone have any experience buying both?
-
@dkowa The best thing to do is to email the guys at IHUK and ask for help: shop@ironheart.co.uk
They will be able to guide your journey between the different fits and help you decide on the cut that will work best for you.
-
@dkowa I've had both and they are quite different, especially in the top block. The 634 sits a lot lower, under the waist and on the hips. So the fit around the waist, hips an ass will be different regardless. But this really depends on your body type.
Same size or size up for a more relaxed fit, I'd say. But like @goosehd says, discuss it with the gents in Gosport.
-
@Dkowa in my humble opinion i will go with the same tag size assuming that your 888's fit well. I wear tag 36 on both. The hip never felt tighter to me on the 634 vs the 888 and the slight difference in the upper thigh measurement will be compensated by the wider measurement of the 634 at around 5 to 6 inches from the crotch and by the time you get to the knee the 634 os more generous...
-
ya, the shop gave me the same advice, either same size or size up should be good. My 888s are great in the waist but kinda a bit tight in the thigh, but that could be due to the taper to the knee. Lifting weights has made it a bit of a challenge to get jeans to fit in both the thigh and the waist, usually I have to pick one or the other.
