first off sorry for the abysmal photo quality (and the dirty mirror), old reliable just doesnt snap great photos in unnatural light.
this is my first pair of raws, and i love them, just cant believe how quick the waist has stretched out already though. its only been a few weeks tops, and now im yankin them up every so often throughout the day. its making me wonder if i would have been better off sizing down one, but then i dont think anything else would have fit as comfortably. i like em tight, and personally i think these fit pretty well. only thing i'd maybe change is have the taper come in a little tighter towards the leg opening. (kind of addressing that with an extra cuff or two).
obviously a belt is the easiest solution, but have any of you ever had a tailor bring in a waist a little bit from the back? maybe thats a bad idea? i also want to get them hemmed but i dont think the cuffs look terrible as is either. if i sent them to IH for hemming, would it be possible to bring the taper in a little bit towards the bottom as well? also would the waist thing be something they could do or nah?
thoughts, opinions, insults appreciated.

@darbycrash welcome to the IH world! First of all great fit! You don’t wanna wear a UHR any tighter then that imo cause then it will wear you question: did you followed the soak/wash before wear instructions? Cause that will make them shrink 1 inch in the waist and 1 inch in the length. They will stretch back to pre-soak/wash measurement(waist) if you followed this process you can wear them, hard! If you don’t already did this process i would strongly advise you to do this asap enjoy brother!

@Heavy_blue thanks man! haha yeah absolutely would be wearing me at that point.
yes i did follow the process, and i was almost worried that i had made a huge mistake on sizing when i put them on after that, but powered through it. within a day or two the waist had stretched back out, and over the course of the last week, it feels like it has stretched out even more. not completely falling off or anything, but definitely a bit more than it had initially it feels like.

@darbycrash if you have the idea they are to big you can try to wash them on a hotter setting. For example i soaked on the hottest tap water available around here and washed them 30 degrees celcius. That was good for me and yes they stretched back out but not beyond pre-soak. UHR isn’t very stretchy. They ease a little and become more forgiving so maybe that’s what you experience. Otherwise soak them wet with a showerhead and wash them again on a hotter setting.

@T4920 lookin sick man

Yeah UHR is very nice! Also it amazes me for how long it stays gnarly and rigid. Needs a ton of wear to soften up, but it’s also part of the process!

thought id throw an update on here. its been not quite 3 months but almost. not quite daily wear either but close. the past few years have seen me live the most sedentary lifestyle ive ever experienced (although i do use a standing desk orientation for most of the work day), but ive still managed to have these on while playing a few gigs, driving around 6k miles, catching some shows, sleeping on a couple floors, and changing oil. the waist has stretched out quite a bit, so i feel i may have been a little too gentle with the initial soak and agitation. im currently going back and forth on whether or not ill do a hot soak and agitate again. otherwise though they are amazing and my girlfriend laughed when i said this the other night but wearing them is addictive.
