Y’2 Leathers….

congrats @Autorotate to the black roughout, looks amazing on the shops page
TJ made this video on the different denim leather jackets, by Y2 and Double Helix
-
@endo Thanks man! Yeah, I saw that. Gonna watch it again. Just trying to get as much first hand experience before I pull the trigger.
BTW, that WAYWT pic of your indigo jacket with the vest which was shot in the evening is such a cool fit and you wear that jacket so well. Also, I absolutely love the roughout tan Wesco’s. I really dig your style. -
@Autorotate That Y2 chore coat in black rough-out is really tempting me too - haven't been able to stop thinking about it! I'm looking forward to your photos. debating between the 44&46, but need to make up my mind quickly before they sell out
-
@leafscan18 you bet bud. It’ll give me a chance to dial in my shitty selfies.
-
@Autorotate appreciate it!

@Autorotate said in Y’2 Leathers….:
@Anesthetist just found this thread! So epic!
I was on the forum yesterday and found @endo ’s post on his indigo Double Helix. What an amazing jacket! Inspired, I started searching The Shop Vancouver’s page and decided I needed the Y2 Indigo Type 2…
But while I was there, I saw the freshly released Black Roughout Chore coat. And in a moment of weakness, I bought the damn thing! Size 42. Arrives tomorrow! Fit pics forthcoming.
But before I jump on the Indigo Type 2, may I ask your Height and weight @Anesthetist ? I just want to make sure I nail the sizing. FWIW, I’m 5’7” 175. Broad shoulders/chest, long torso, short legs. 32/31 in IH pants across the board. Thoughts?
I’m 6’1 ish, around 173#, 41” chest, I wear a largish large or small XL in IH tops and am a 42 in Y2. The cut on the Type 2 is a little constricting to me around the upper chest, but it is still breaking in.
You’ll like the chore coat, the smell of the leather alone is amazing.

My Black Roughout Chore coat just arrived. It’s perfect. The fit is spot on for what I was looking for. I wanted to be able to button it up over a thicker shirt, but not be loose. I poured over the charts and watched all of TJ’s video from the Shop Vancouver.
I’m short and stocky. Not a good shape when shopping for Japanese clothing. But this jacket hits just right at the waist, about 1.5” below my belt line. Lots of mobility in the shoulder - and as you can see, fits over a Henley and my 805’s and doesn’t look or feel stretched. I totally love this thing!!
-
Yes sir, that’s the look!
-
I broke mine out in celebration
-
@Anesthetist Awesome man! Thanks for your help and encouragement !
This is a pickup unlike any I’ve had in a LONG time. This will be worn to/from the gym, to walk the dog, out to nice dinners, on the moto, to my beloved Browns games, etc. the only thing it “might” share time with is that indigo type 2. Finger is hovering over the buy button as we speak.
-
@Autorotate wow great fit! congrats - it suits you well. Wow even all that packaging is epic
-
The indigo is unreal, I have a Henry in the Western Shirt and really love it. If money were no object I’d have 3-4 of them!
-
Toying with the idea of a Y2 or a Double Helix BUT just come across these guys.. https://shangrilaheritage.it/
Shangri-La Heritage..some lovely pieces but cant get much info on them. Anyone know anything about these?
-
Heavily influenced by @Anesthetist I couldn’t leave well enough alone and had to double down on some Y’2 leather. @endo gets some credit too, for my spiral… ala his indigo jacket over in the Double Helix thread.
Words can not do justice to this jacket. The smell, the weight, the deep deep dark navy blue color. I’m totally digging it.
Fitment wise it’s perfect for me (happy to receive fit checks!) I am hoping for it to “open up” in the shoulders. In plain English, I am unable to lift my arms up high enough to either fold the collar down or pop it up - when the jacket is being worn. But sized any larger, I don’t think it would look right. Don’t get wrong… I think it’s just the nature of the beast. I indeed have technical jackets - if arm mobility will be called for on that particular day. But this jacket will do perfectly fine on a motorcycle, which I am planning to do once the spring rolls around.
-
Well done! Funny enough, I bought mine in a similar time frame and have no regrets. My jacket is much the same about the shoulder, but it will get a little better. I cant wait to see how it breaks in, it is such a cool jacket.
-
Great looking jacket and a fine fit @Autorotate !!
I already have way more jackets than I can wear living here, so the more jackets I buy, the stronger case I build to move elsewhere colder, right?
-
@motojobobo dude, I was “banished” to SoCal for years. Could never enjoy my leathers, my wool sweaters… and for that matter XHS was out of the question!
No complaints having moved back to the Midwest. The weather always makes it nice to layer up!And thanks for the nice feedback about the fit!

looking super @Autorotate such a wonderful jacket (and same here with the shoulders, but we have to suffer a bit for our beauty)
