This one came pretty soon after Bill Evans’ return to music after the death of Scott LaFaro, his incredibly melodic and inventive bassist in his trio known for the legendary Village Vanguard sessions. He was wrecked by this sudden, tragic death. LaFaro was so unique and I think he had more to say and could have been a bigger influence (Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead recalls him for me with his melodicism and ceaseless forays into the upper registers of the instrument). I’m not sure Evans ever got over LaFaro’s death and those demons probably figured into his struggles with addiction. So Bill was incredibly emotionally vulnerable at this time.

This one isn't an original krautrock gem that i found hidden away in a box after decades (although I wish it was) but the re-issue still sounds great

During the search for a new player, I was invited into a showroom, where my dealer demonstrated several phonograph cartridges to another customer.
Unique and mindblowing.
Tech talk felt like I am a beer drinker who knows that there are two colors of wine and the others try to compare two vintages of the same varity, grown on different continents.
Soundwise, it was a revelation.
Never heard this in such a clearness before. What should I expect; even the cartridges used, cost more than twice of my budget for a new player.

Played Julio for dinner and the atmosphere was relaxed afterwards… -
