#we're going to win the world cup #this is our year #'arry kane
If we're being honest England hasnt played a good team yet. Let's see how they do in their last group game
-
We can say the same about Belgium too, but Belgium is stacked with talent.
-
True….but goal number 6 though....
-
Not hating on England at all though and Harry Kane is probably the best out and out pure striker in the game right now….it's a toss up between him and Lewandowski in my book.
-
That would be Belgium

You guys must have had some real fun today watching proceedings at IHUK, first that high scoring win of the Three Lions and then Japan holding up against the Senegalese, a team that I find is real fun to watch.
England v. Belgium is going to be a (if not THE) highlight of the group stage. If the Lions win that one, and perhaps survive a penalty shoot out once the knockout games will have started, I'm ready to believe in a title chance. -
Good point

I am delighted that both Belgium and England are definitely through to next round, and whilst (of course) I want to see England win on Thursday, if they come 2nd in group then at least our next game is Tuesday 3rd at 6pm (Berlin time) which might be easier to get to see than Monday evening when we are setting up for Selvedge Run.
And now hoping hard that Japan and Germany also get through, could make for a very interesting few days with Haraki and co and all the other German and Japanese friends who will be in Berlin…
Oh, and Mexico of course @kiya

Oh, and Mexico of course @kiya
Yes, the last couple of weeks have been very good to us Mexico fans, excited to see where game 3 takes us on Wednesday but I'm quite sure that with 6 points we're quite set for the next round. Been finding some other Mexico fans to watch the games here in Athens and Paris so that's been fun!

Not like most of you need a reminder… but this World Cup was to take place in England if it wasn't for the shitheads running FIFA.
The Daily (NY Times' very good daily podcast) reminds us of this today, and it's quite a good episode: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-world-cups-mysterious-path-to-russia/id1200361736?i=1000414384816&mt=2

I just knew there were going to be some consequences to @Giles comment from @Seul.
I happen to have a friendly view of both the English and the Belgian team (as long as they don't play us, needless to say) so this is lots of fun to follow. How did that fitting citation from the classics go…."si tacuisses" or some such?
