RIP Filthy Mike
-
I've been sitting with this for a few days not knowing what to say. Absolutely gutted to hear this news.
I'm not around much anymore, but I still swing through these parts from time to time. Mike has been a consistent source of joy and enthusiasm on the forum for a good long while. He had a real generosity of spirit. Most times I popped in, would be followed up with a kind private word from Mike, just to say hi or the help me hunt down a piece I'd been looking for. Our brief conversations always brightened my day. This community is better off for having known him.
On the grand scale of things, this seems so small, but I would've never given the 21oz overalls a shot if not for Mike. I can't really imagine working in anything else now. Truly, the filthy effect in action. Now they will always be a nice reminder of him.
Rest up Mike, and much love to all of your family.

@Mizmazzle thanks for alerting me to the fact Mike had a Youtube. It’s nice putting a voice to his name and face.

If you do have something you would like me to auction off as a donation to American Heart Association. Please DM me directly.
This is a wonderful gesture, will be reaching out shortly…

When I start getting items, I will list them on a board dedicated to sell Filthy Auction Items", I will add a new thread to the board as and when I receive more items. I think I will give each item one week

@Weft:
It’s upsetting to read what a troubled bloke he was…
I realise how poorly worded this was, for anyone who read it. I didn’t mean to sound judgmental. I sincerely meant it in the sense that I hope Mike hadn’t suffered. He was a kind soul. Just to clear it up.

@Weft 4 Dead I’d like to think no one here took it like that brother. I knew what ya meant anyways
Much Love 🫶 -

. I didn’t think it was poorly worded,and while Mike was troubled he seemed to find immense comfort in everything Iron Heart especially this Forum, where he was revered like no other member.

Man, I love seeing his indigo dying adventure pics. Thanks for keeping the pic update going. It made me smile so much today, when I really needed it.

I just wanted to add my condolences, his how to wash your jeans aka the filthy method is legend. He was always entertaining and full of IH inspiration and passion. It’s very sad to read of his passing, but also inspiring seeing everyones comments. He presence was large on the forum. May God bless his soul.

RIP. First guy that got me in to 25oz denim. He was so enthusiastic about 25oz denim. Later he changed his handle to 21/23 Oz.
