Insects

@WhiskeySandwich Looked it up. Apparently part of the ‘Robber’ or ‘Assassin’ fly family(!), though I think you’d be a different weight class so you’re probably safe, especially with your fly eliminating abilities.
-
@Mister_Brue only in my house! interesting I wonder if they’re native, never seen one round here
-
-
@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot Nice dude; any idea of the type?
-
Almost squished this guy in the back of my truck today: I think he was hitching a ride. He flew off eventually and looked in fine fettle.
-
@Mister_Brue pretty sure the chunky fella turns into a cecropia moth
-
@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot Nice; looked it up. Very impressive.
-
A Speckled Wood from last week. Nearing the end of butterfly season, so mostly just Small and Large White’s around now.
-
This Carolina Mantis was waiting outside my door for me. And for whatever reason this Asterocampa kept flying into me every time I leaned up against a particular tree at the playground!!

Mourning Cloaks on a gate
Got a tick bite that infected badly. In the end there was a hole in my calf one could stick a finger to and dig around. And that was what helthcare professionals did to remove dead stuff, not with the finger thought. Nasty creatures some of them insects
-
@ARNC I had to check the english name and used mourning cloak because finnish name is direct translation from that. For the looks beauty suits better

-
@Mister_Brue Thanks. We have a new garden that the butterflies like a lot.
-
Oh, that’s lovely; looking forward to some more pictures. Lots of the butterflies we don’t necessarily get over here, so it’s nice to see them, especially up close.
-
@Mister_Brue Well it's starting into fall. So butterflies will not be around to long. If I can get some pics I will post them.
