@Sugar:
Wow, interesting. Good pick-up. They're like some strange cross between a Clark's Desert Trek and a Viberg Oxford.
Precisely. I used to own the Clarks but was not a fan. I have also wanted a Viberg or White's Oxford for ages but have since lost my desire for them. These have filled that gap.

^ Those are lovely Takeshi. From Superdenim right? Be sure to post them in the dedicated Viberg thread on this page too: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=823.0
I'd also be interested in seeing a fit pic of the shoes with IH. Been curious as to what that sole looks like in 'real life'.

yes they were from Superdenim - the ripple sole is not as big and clunky as maybe some might think ..

Hey Guys,
Wanted to post my new acquisition before I wore them. These are deadstock, made in US, moc toe work oxfords that Carolina no longer produces. I have been jonesing for a pair of the Thorogood moc toe oxford (no longer in production either) or the Redwing (8100 series) but I got lucky and found these at a local shoe store for $50.00, which beats the $130.00 price for the Thorogoods (assuming I could find a pair in my size) and the $230.00 price for the Redwings! The saleslady was funny when she said “That box is really old looking… Do you want a newer box?” She didn’t seem to appreciate that I actually wanted the older shoes and their box! Oh well…
I don’t know what the actual date of manufacture is but they are in excellent shape just like they had been made yesterday! The leather has a bit of wax reside, but that’s nothing a good brushing won’t take care of! And I’m hoping that the waxiness is a sign that quality leather was used for the build! I was a bit concerned about the soles at first since they are older and could have deteriorated a bit since new, but they seem to be in excellent shape as well, so all is good! Now, time to put some miles on these bad boys!
