Winterizing a pool in freezing climate

Anyone close their own in ground pool where you really have to winterize it? Like make sure no water is left in the lines and what not? I am tired of paying the pool company to do it and tried doing it myself. I think i nailed it but also part of me is like meh did I nail it? Looking for experienced input from anyone who has a pool and also can’t use it most of the year like me! Western MA USA here. Thanks!
