Go to Italy, they're bloody everywhere.
My Laverda passed it's MOT today, thank goodness for that and just in time to enjoy the decent spell of weather here in the UK. -

Looking to purchase a bicycle in NY. New or Used Single Speed. Would like to spend anywhere from $200-$400. Anyone got a hook or know of a good shop? Also, any ideas of a good brand or model that may fit the bill so I can narrow down my search? Thanks!

NYC Velo, specializes in fixed gear, they are known to be the best, also bowery lane bicycles (but those are a little pricey and look nice so they will probs be stolen really fast)
-
might check this bike out.
what do you guys think?

Lando - can't recommend a place in NY (being on the other side of the pond) but would certainly recommend going used to max out on your budget. Good equipment will last, and is usually easier to maintain/replace (bit like IH!!)
I have this http://www.chargebikes.com/products/bikes/detail.php?id=17 which is a brillant frame and I use for local commutes . . . and a nice Boardman Carbon road bike for training . . . and (my baby) Marin MV for absolutely everything else - especially down hill directions!

And Wiggle has a decent sale on at the moment:

and they are only about 5 miles from me. Will I be able to resist…..
