ah gmb is just being gmb. i love when dudes actually say what they think instead of the forum mentality. keeps things fun. dude gave his reasons & i think part of the reason snowy boots look so damn good is really & truly a testament to snowy & his photography. i mean the guy takes pictures of the most random sh!t & makes it look like art (no brown nosing hahahaha) brian the bootguy on the other hand does great work, but i swear the photos do not do justice to his work (speaking from experience as i have a pair of boots he worked over for me).
let's be clear, i'm just saying open dialogue should be one of the major contributing factors on the forum. let's keep the doors of communication open.

That's great - mine fit snug/perfect now - I just worried a major resole might change the fit. That is such a beautiful resole job - but it might be hard for someone in the U.S. to deal with them, however. Seems like the shipping and communication challenges could be an issue.
There is no issues with communication from the US. E-mail Info@mydenimlife.com and you'll be able to speak about what you want in normal/full english with a rate and address to ship to, no problems at all. I just happened to be going to Japan and delivered in person. The guys behind the e-mail address were very helpful in discussing options/sending pictures etc.

Idk, maybe it's because there's no fish-shaped stitching in the middle but to me the stitching just looks straighter than when compared to this
This may not be as pretty and I am not going to get into an argument about which is better, but the stitching above holds the sole and mis sole assembly together in 2 paces. For durability I would go for this…...

Speaking of boots, the Cat's Paw heels on my Road Champs are wearing down really quickly. I'd like to eventually get the soles replaced with a rubber half sole/heel combo (Dr. Sole like in the pic above). My question is, should I have my Cat's Paw heels replaced and wait for the leather sole to wear out and then get them resoled or just wear the Cat's Paws out and then go for a resole?
-
I forgot to mention earlier that Takeshi also has the benefit of machinery to do his soles. He had to be convinced to do the first triple sole job on RCs because he was worried it would break his machine.
@superfuzz I have some Cat's Paw heels to replace my RCs, but given how quickly they wear I may call an audible and go with Vibram. Won't mark my floors up either. If I were you I'd go ahead and get rubber outsoles, though my RCs have triple leather already (going all the way to the heel) and I will not be putting rubber half soles on.
-
Since you're adding a rubber half sole, you might as well get it done when you replace the heels. If you wait until the leather outsole is worn out, then the boots may need a more extensive rebuild. Kind of a prevention vs restoration approach, if you will.
-
I'd have the entire sole replaced when I get the rubber half sole. So getting the heels replaced would just allow me to get some more wear out of the original leather sole before I have them totally resoled. If that makes sense.
I'll probably just go ahead and get them totally resoled once the heels wear out.
