Welcome @Danny-S .
Where in the Netherlands are you located? I drive from Cologne to Texel on a fairly regular basis. If you live en route, I can arrange delivery of everything you buy at kentaurus.de -
How’s it going guys and gals,
I’m Lance from Tucson, AZ, USA.
Just a stop for a few years though, I’m in the military so I move around a lot.
I’m a diesel mechanic in the Air Force. Been about 10 years already.
The wife and I are actually trying to get to the UK next! Hopefully.
I’ve been into workwear for a long time but I can finally afford Iron Heart. My wife’s gonna kill me.
I’ve actually been coming on the forums since 2016 but just started posting since I’m buying more stuff now.
Little bit about me. I’m married, we have a 3 year old son. Love metal! Doom, stoner, death mostly but I like it all. 2 dobermans! I cut hair for a side gig and I detail cars. I love Lord Of the Rings!
Looking forward to meeting y’all. -
Hello from Tennessee USA!
I have been paying attention and admiring Iron Heart clothing since around 2016. I first was introduced to the brand by browsing motorcycle forums, Instagram accounts, and Pinterest photos. I have always been a sucker for faded denim, but I never really had the patience to wear through the first few months of dark and not washing them. I grew up in a household that washed everything on warm and tumble-dried everything for hours. Often you could smell elastic in boxer waistbands cooking when you opened the dryer. This produced very soft clothes, but very uninteresting and muted fades on all clothes. To add insult to injury, I almost always had to buy larger than I wear because clothes shrink when put through this abuse. I digress, but here I am. I purchased a pair of IH-666s around December 1, followed by a pair of IH-777s around December 10. Just last night I purchased my first UHF. I can't believe I am already in at over $1k, but this stuff is just made so well and has such an enormous and cool fan base. I am working on my first couple of jeans and already have my eye on a pair of 25oz IH-888s. Hopefully I have the courage and the wherewithal to sustain the journey. I just melt when I see photos of the fades online and I can't wait to be able to sport the same on my clothing.
Cheers.

Will post some early fade pics of my 21od jeans soon.
EDIT: Looks like my intro post got either deleted or placed elsewhere. Weird…

These two threads have become interchangeable, and arguably could be merged. We aren’t sticklers though and appreciate when folks say hello, whichever thread it is on.

Ah, thanks @neph93 . Hadn't had my morning coffee yet.

Please forgive the newbie question, but is there a thread about properly vintage stuff?
I've got an old sheepskin coat that my father gave me, specifically, that I'd be interested if any of the old-timers knew anything about. Bit of a long shot, I know.
So I'm wondering if there's a thread for "check out this cool thing" or "clothing with a personal story" or "cool family hand-me-downs" kind of thing.

@EdH I reckon the random questions thread would be a good shout, sounds a great jacket with a great story
-
@LewisStonehouse Can you help me locate it? I'm not having much luck! Thanks!

Sorry dude, meant to do that and brain farted https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=231.msg639906#msg639906
Welcome to the forum btw!

Much appreciated, thank you. And I look forward to contributing, hopefully some of my posts will be of interest to someone!

Hello all Adam here, cheers to Ross for the help with the order I just placed.

Howdy folks,
I've been lurking around here for about 10 months or so but have yet to introduce myself/post much of anything. I have truly enjoyed soaking up all of the knowledge offered by you wonderful people, and I think it's about time I introduce myself and make more of an attempt to be a part of this community.
My name is Mike, I'm married with two kids (3 and 5), and earn a living teaching history at the high school level. I live in Sacramento, CA. I'm 41. Passions of mine include being a dad, watching sci-fi, denim and long-lasting quality clothing, contemplating philosophy and ethics, enjoying the natural world, doing research on various topics, and driving my wife crazy with my analytical self.
I really first got into denim about a year ago. The impetus behind my interest was a desire to live sustainably and consume fewer products. It began with a pair of Nudie Grim Tim organic selvage, and let's just say it's ballooned since - budgetary restrictions notwithstanding. This site has been an invaluable resource whilst learning about the complex world of denim and well-made clothing. At first, Iron Heart seemed out of reach due to the cost, but I wound up finding some really great deals through second-hand sources and managed to procure a few pieces. Those pieces confirmed that the price is indeed justifiable. At that point I didn't feel that I'd yet earned the right to post here because I'd yet to purchase something from Giles and his crew. My family knows me well and got me an Iron Heart gift voucher for Xmas, and that paved the way for my most recent purchase which was from Iron Heart UK, a pair of 555s-21 (that are amazing!). I got to experience first-hand the tremendous customer service offered by this company. I emailed back and forth with AJ, Chesson, and Graham no fewer than 6 times because they wanted to make sure that my order was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Just a great experience! And when the jeans arrived - perfect fit. The 21 oz fabric is as indescribably amazing as what people in the forum attempt to communicate, and I suspect that these will be going strong for a long time. You all have earned a customer for life.
I also purchased an IHSH-33 from @arrow. What a shirt! In the photo I'm posting here, I'm wearing that shirt and the 555s.
I can be long-winded, so I'll end this post here. Pleased to be joining all of you and this community. Cheers!

@MisterEclectic hell yeah man! That 33 looks like it has a ton of fade potential left in it. Buying second hand, especially on this forum is definitely just as rad and really more sustainable than buying all brand new products anyway. Plus you can find rare grail items that are extinct. About half of my IH peices I bought from members here on the forum. So you are just as much welcome here as anyone else interested in denim and the works.
Fellow teacher here, but on the other side of our county in MD. Middle School Visual Arts.
Cheers and welcome.
