Thanks for the quick response.
when a free moment presents itself i think i'll reach out to one of your friendly vendors abroad. serves me right for being slow to pull the trigger when the last restock came in . . .

nice images . . . are your 02 & 01 the same size? the top block on these looks a bit roomier, not a bad thing, but i'm curious, do you prefer one denim over the other in this cut?
thank you much

Hey guys, so all three pairs of my 555 are size 30w. My experienc so far between the three 555 cuts is that the 01 & 03s have a slightly roomier thigh and a bit more room from the knee down.
I'm not sure if this attribute mainly comes from the cut or simply due to the differences in the denim material itself.
I'd say the 555-02s (pre-soak) fit fairly similarily to the 555-01 before they stretched out. See that's a big thing, basically the 555-02's post soak got smaller and the 555-01s stretched out quite a bit after a few weeks of wear.
It's really tough to say which pair I like more… Honestly, the 18oz denim is easily the nicest denim I've owned to date, but I've yet to personally own 25oz or 23/21oz.
But in this cut, I'd have to say the 01 & 03s are a lot easier to wear and break in. Wearing 18oz denim in such a slim cut can be difficult, especially to break in (as you'd expect) but the results are pretty damn rewarding already.
I guess when I'm choosing which pair to wear, I usually consider how active I'm going to be. If I'm going out for a beer or dinner, I'll probably put on the 555-02s, but I'm going to be doing a lot of running, crouching, and climbing, I'll probably throw on the 555-01s. That being said, the 555-02s only get better the more they're abused.
Curious to hear what pair people think fit better tho. I'm waiting on my 555-03s to get in (traded my pair 31w for his 30w) so I'll do a back to back of all three when they arrive. -
i like your 02s better on you, but i'm sure in the summer you will be happy you have these 01s, plus a hot wash & a belt do wonders.
overall great stuff mr. dead

I'm sure that everyone has different care regimens, but I've always put my 634s in the washer on normal wash (warm or hot cycles), and then straight into the dryer on a normal warm tumble dry, too. I turn them inside-out before I do it, but otherwise I don't baby this fabric. I haven't noticed any difference in the fades or anything, unlike my 301s07BK which get similar treatment, and have some fade lines from drying.

What's normal? I'm serious, the Japanese can't believe how we in the West fuck up clothing on a "normal" wash. That is because their washing is super-sympathetic…
My advice. 30C, slowest spin possible (no spin if that is an option). No tumble dryer.
Not spinning or tumble drying is going to lose you a day- big deal.....

I don't find these to be a skinny cut at all. Personally I love the roomy top block to the drastic taper.
-
^^
what you consider skinny?
-
I think people get misconstrued that these are like jeggings. They are not top block is almost as roomy as 634
-
yeah i agree about these NOT being jeggings, but they ARE slim/skinny or whatever folks are calling it now a days.
lost in english to english translation :-\
can not what for these to come in so i don't have to wear the 18oz in the summer & skip walking around with swamp nutz.
