Watches - another OCD problem
-
I get asked so many times what's the best watch to buy.
It's not an easy question to answer as the cost of the watch plays a major part to a certain point.
I the real world there are some great watches at a good price that are excellent value for money.
Seiko is a fantastic product at a great price and really takes some beating at the sub one thousand dollar mark.
Oris make some great products now and are certainly well worth a look.
Then for me it's Tudor with the Black Bay range.
As the price range increases you have to look at the Omega and Panerai for a beautiful range of products.
Finally Rolex with there steel sports watches.
Everybody's taste and opinions differ but in my opinion this Seiko at around five hundred dollars is a great buy.

Could I ask what you would consider buying if you had to sell all your other watches and had a maximum budget of say 1000 gbp? Would Sinn get a look in? Glycine?
I would look at the Oris and try and get a bit of a discount or even wait a bit and add some extra funds and get a Black Bay. These are two fantastic watches that will last forever and look great.

Thanks for that. I'd absolutely love a Black Bay in black but don't think i'll be able to justify the cost on my humble wages. @Cutlasshound owns my grail…the IWC Pilot Chronograph (still waiting for him to get sick of it).
The Oris looks nice but doesn't blow me away aesthetically. The Sinn 104 was one that I liked the look of. No idea if the quality is there though. Can't be too bad being German and all that. I actually preferred the thought of owning a german piece rather than a swiss one but that's a political thing. And we won't go into that

The Sinn watches are generally nice quality and well made.
They have a SW220 movement in which is a clone of a ETA 2824.
This movement is ok and the watch looks good.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Lol keep waiting (but thanks btw)
I have the black bay old chap. It is a great watch. Picked up the black bezel one. If you are based in the uk, there are plenty of jewellers that do them interest free…...
