Thanks dude! I had a pair years ago that were always just too right - went for a more relaxed fit with these and am very happy. I'm sure I could have gone 1sz down but the jump from sz36 to 38 was a lot (and I am snack dab in between), so I went larger and am very happy with them. They are the perfect pant for coaching strength & conditioning classes because of the full range of motion in the top block, and durability of the material. Luckily I just received some 707 so I don't have to baby these and can put them through the ringer (like they deserve)!
sorry for picture overloads
They work great on really cold mornings as well:

I was a bit hesitant to have such a short hem (about 1-2 inches shorter than my denim offerings) but I think the duck does well with very little break around the ankles

Thanks!
These are a 38 but have been washed and dried pre-hem
If I wanted slimmer I would go 36 and only hand wash.

Thanks @den213 - they are one of my favorite cuts - I got the 707 as well and those are great too. Hoping the wabby 816 or the DD will be my next pair of this cut.

Few questions about these duck work pants. I have the LB DD, which I LOVE! I haven't been wearing them lately or enough to know if they are a rugged/durable pair of jeans. All I know is they are still stiff after quite many wears and don't breath much, which I like. Also, the quickest and most amazing fades IMO
- How durable is the 17 oz duck?
- How similar in weave tightness(breathing) is it to the LB? If it is even comparable, I would guess the looms can make a tighter weave, but I am probably wrong.
- These are more stubborn to fade than the DD fabric? I don't see any navy fades. Are they slasher dyed instead of rope dyed? I know the DD are rope dyed and the dye doesn't penetrate far in, so that is why they fade quick and beautifully.
Thanks

So a decent duck for summer months? So 70-90 degree fahrenheiht(21-35 celsius) weather?
-
I own the 17 oz Cotton duck jacket and the DD Type I. You would not guess that both fabrics are a similar weight. The "normal" duck breathes a lot better, is softer and drapes well. The DD remeins stiff and chunky even after wear & washing.
Regarding the temperatures - there are people like me that refuse to wear Long Pants above 22 degrees. Some indonesian guys wear 25 oz in the heat. If you can stand Long Pants in the summer, light coloured ducks would not be the worst choice, at least compared to the Loombreakers. But I'd rather invest in the 707 then.

I don't do shorts in hot weather, no matter how hot if I am in public. I only wear shorts around the house and when I go swimming.
Of all the raw or similar quality jeans/pants I got in the past year or so, the NP 5 Pocket Ducks are comfy in summer, they are only 12oz and are a looser weave, but don't seem to be super durable. Where my knife is located on all my jeans, it tore a hole in the pocket while my IH show a little fading.

Mine have seen a lot of wear. They are a lot softer than then duck LBs. Minimal fading to mine, in fact the only fading is a result if machine washing three or four times (worn these 75+ times). Very versatile casually or dressed up with a shirt and more rugged than chinos imo.
