SOCKS

I got me some Teko socks at TK Maxx. Warm and comfy, made in USA.

Been very impressed with the Red Wings Arctic work socks ( Thanks Clint D for sorting these out for me ). Warm comfortable and cushioned, great in a work boot. I am using these most days while at work on the rig and they get hammered. They stand up very well to hot washing ( offshore laundries are not well known for using careful washing cycles )
For dress shoes I have been using some very nice thin socks from a traditional Italian brand called Sozzi Calze. Some of the stripe designs are interesting.

I have the same pair, and yes, so nice!!! Really want a olive camo pair!
-
They're the best pile on any anonymous ism sock IMO. Plus, feckin camo dude.

haven't found the right thread for these, but here they are…
Here?

I'm with ya Brooks. I thought Smartwool were better, but they aren't quite as good as Darn Tough. I mean, everyone wants to wear what the military is wearing, so get some Darn Tough. It's what the USA military wears (along with Danner or New Balance).
And they're made in New England (VT to be exact).

TFA sucks pretty bad when it comes to the "staying up" and the "keeping the shape" performance imo…went with one pair of anonymousism socks to begin with, before recently ordering some more! atm. I have to say I'm super happy with them (comparing them to TFA, they're are worlds apart!)...
can't say something about darn tough or smartwool socks though, since I haven't handled them in person yet. but since I'm here to learn something new every day, so maybe one day I'll share your opinion Mike!
thanks for pointing me into another good direction when it comes to socks buddy... -
Darn Tough, Wigwam, Any Wigwam knockoffs by REI or EMS, Smartwool, and Uniqlo all seem to favor my feet over the anonymous ism socks. Sucks cause I bought like 6 pair too. I think the camo ones are nice and thick though. I feel like the ones I got are more suited towards dress shoes in an office setting. Not for walking around the city in boots.
Also, Darn Tough has a lifetime warranty.

only tried the beige camo ones so far…just had them on for a 2h hike today (along with the viberg 66hikers) and i have to say they are just perfect for long(er) walks. they work great with boots (and maybe even dress shoes), they don't slip, not even a bit...so the camo ones are dope in my book! gonna report back on the others as well.

I like the camo ones. I'll probably end up getting them.

Anonymous ism uses a bunch of different construction so it's hard to speak of them as a brand really.
For example the American flag themed ones are cotton and not very elastic, and fairly thin. So those won't cling to your calves. But the camo ones are effectively hiking socks and they will. You have to take them model by model, it's not like Smartwool where the only differences are how thick they are and whether the soles are padded.

I have 4 different styles and mine all fall. I'm still going to wear them because the designs/colors are cool. If I'm traveling or walking around the city I'll reach for something else though.
I've seen the camo ones at Gentry in Brooklyn and I like them a lot. They seem closer to Wigwam's in construction.
