How do rm Williams fit? Tts? Ibex always wanted a pair. Very nice man
-
Weird sizing. I'm a 7G in RM, an 8 in RW and an 8 (26.0 cm) in Japanese boots. I was very glad I could try these on in the store before buying. The other thing is, because they're chelsea boots, they've got to be tight when you buy them because the leather stretches a little, but not too tight that they're uncomfortable.
-
Thanks man, I'm probably a weirdo but I like my boots as tight as I can get them in all directions. It just feels better to me as long as my toe is just touching the end and the Instep is stretched tight across my foot with the heel locked down…. Probably not good for my feet but whatever

Wow, those Lofgren Badalassi engineers look so great! I wasn't sold on the color when new but worn in they look amazing. I bet this guy who died his pair wishes he'd just left good enough alone! http://vintageengineerboots.blogspot.com/2013/05/reader-mail_22.html

yeah…. I would say for a number of reasons he regrets that decision.

"Bold" is one word for it. They came out nice but the cognac is transcendent.
-
What's wrong with them from you'lls perspective? Once they wear wont the underlying color show and give them some nice character or with the dye job they'll just be brown? They look nice to me, but will admit no accounting for taste, haahaha.
What do you folks think of rrl murdock boots (sp) saw a black pair brand new listed at 599 shipped. Of course Im going to ask the objective question, are they worth it?
-
I actually like them, but not as much as Chiba's. I don't think they will evo any better either but to each his own.

One issue with the Murdocks is fit. I've never owned them, but people complain a lot about the very narrow shafts. They're not going to work for everybody, that's for sure.

my rios were fine sizing wise, the leather just stunk to high hell of chemicals so I returned them, was also SUPER DRY…..

rios de mercedes
and not one of you bastards have come close to answering my question. you bunch of freckin' fine-goods-intellectuals. jeez, hahahahahahahaha

Mad, I am sure no intellectual haha, but I will give an opinion - I've read A LOT about engineers and what folks are saying about various boots - and the RRLs have fans - but also comments about the fit being off and other issues - agree there are diff. opinions on Julians v. the newer model (you can tell by the RRL logo - I have actually seen both on eBay and the seller is RL and they accept returns which is cool). But you asked for an opinion and mine is I'd go with a custom Wesco like Jack's for that price before I'd go with RLs. You just don't hear the diversity of pros and cons about the other high-end engineers from my perspective. It's a big decision to drop this kind of coin on a pair of boots and I personally waived off the RLs after reading everything.
Also on your other comment about the dyed John Lofgren Baldalassi's - agree they look pretty great - and it "could" turn out really great - and I respect the guy for taking a chance with his $1000 boots. Like I said it's a bold move, and did not mean that as a negative. but for me, the boots are just so special as they are - especially after seeing chiba's evo pics.

Wesco have gotten high praise from respected by me boot men & women on this forum. Might look into a pair when I have the resources. Thanks Bluegrass for taking a moment to break it down for me.
