Our Cars (dream or actual)

@74turbo Oh man, my dad had one. Wish he would have kept it. A real fun little car. Before all the bloat.
-
Before the bloat's right, @GardenState. IMO, nothing desensitizes the car-driver connection like weight.
New cars are great, with all their bells and whistles, but there's no way to replicate the feel of ~2300lbs greased. Conversely, there are few things as intimidating as driving the car next to a behemoth SUV.

@74turbo that 2002 looks feckin awesome. is it all original?
Picked up my Z'd today and had a real blast driving home….The M engine is so raw.

Oh man, as the driver of a forced-induction four-banger (::)), I can only imagine that totally symphonic intake noise…
The posted pic of the car's a bit dated and taken when I had BBS RSes on it. I was able to source the original 13-inchers, so the car's now back to bone stock. A more recent pic from Monterey Car Week:

Thanks dude, @Dmart! Saw your bike in the motorcycle thread… she purty

Got myself a new 4WD vehicle, a Toyota FJ Cruiser. May keep both my 1997 Land Rover Defender and the Toyota or get rid of the oldie…I’ll see how my usage of each one pans out over the next months.
If I decide to keep the LR, I ought to give it some TLC: new paint, upholstery and various noises (rattly windows, squeaky doors and seats…).
-
@motojobobo never!never!never! sell the landy! You will regret it, trust me! If I will ever find one that it is acceptable condition for an acceptable price, I will get one again.

@Giles Land Rover was/is a dream car for me! It would be one of the few vehicles I wouldn’t want to get rid of after 4 or 5 years.
The other would be a Shelby Cobra with a 454 in it.
Guess we can all dream
That 454 would be a chevy engine, though. 427 sounds more like it. Not that the displacement would make any difference in a rocket that weighs next to nothing. Luckily, I'm too tall for the cobra...

Same here. Don’t sell the LR @motojobobo .
Remember your upholstered bike seat project. Something like this will suit the landy well. -
Here's my take on a decent 4x4.
And my advice to @motojobobo is as well to not sell the classic. -

Didn’t the bring out an new version lately like LR did for the landy?
