That's a sexy looking French hammer hanging in the back.
Bag looks great, of course.

Until I get out and take some shots with the fancy camera, these will have to do!

I don't do Scotch, bad experience when I was younger. For me it's Irish all the way.

Kangaroo is great leather for wallets. I love how thin and strong it is.
Great color on that one, by the way.

Thank you! I'm so excited about it. It might one of my favorite wallets yet!

I bought a Kangaroo hide to make lace, and the center of the hide is the most ideal for lace making. All of the outer pieces were cut away, and I put them away for a rainy day. I got inspired on Sunday to make this wallet, and when I stumbled upon the Kangaroo hide I got to work! The pieces I used have lots of little scars on them unlike the portion I save for lace, which is pristine. I can't even tell you how badly I wanted to cut into the rest of that hide! It's so damn small though, and I need it fore lace so I successfully resisted the temptation. The color is gorgeous, and I came upon it completely randomly. A leather company called Sheridan Leather went out of business in May, and I bought this hide from them sight unseen, just to give it a try.
To say I'm a fan of working with Kangaroo would be a huge understatement. It's strong, as you mentioned. Really strong, especially for how thin it is. It's also unique in that it burnishes like Shell Cordovan. For those who don't know, Shell burnishes so incredibly easily and to a glass-like shine with minimal effort. Kangaroo is the same, and its edges are almost indistinguishable from that of Shell.
Check it out. Shell is on the left, Kangaroo is on the right.
