Unexpected BIFL items…
-
If you don't know, BIFL stands for "buy it for life."
Ten years ago, I bought 2 flannel shirts from American Eagle. Today, those two shirts still look and feel brand new, and I've worn them hard. You might expect that from an IH flannel…but these were $30 a piece.
The blue and brown ones are 10 years old, the red one is the baby at 1.5 years old.
So…what are your unexpected BIFL items??

Wow, those look great for the age. Nothing is ever for life with me, but I have had many things that far outlived my expectations. A lot of the western stuff I was into back in high school was ridiculously long lasting. I just buried an old Brushpopper shirt, and have a 20X oxford that is from that period. Heavy T Shirts from HWC will likely make it here in the future, but don't have enough in em for sure. Nice concept

This is a great idea for a thread.
Here's the first one I could think off my head. A simple for just right sweater from Jcrew that is probably appropraching 10 years old.
Crappy pic but if you look real close you can see where it was made - which might of some interest to the group here

I think these qualify. Purchased in 2000, nearly ready for their first resole (want something different ideas?). This pair of Rocky boots have been very good to me, and I think they show their age well.
I love the tarnish on the copper hardware, the way the bright contrast peeks through. Honestly one of the best crepe materials I have had on a boot.
