just bringing [this] back to see if i can get like-minded peeps. i'm flexible on the leather choice.
A) Tan Bison Scout boot
Leather: tan bison
Model: Scout boot
Last: 2005/2040
Toecap: none, unstructured toe
Sole: Commando or Cat'sPaw Half-sole, natural
Eyelets: 7 antique brass eyeletsif seems there's not enough peeps who voted for the Tan Bison Scout who ACTUALLY put in the order. it'd be a shame to waste the opportunity to acquire a fab & unique build up such as this.
honestly, the 1 & only apprehension i have that's preventing me from pulling the trigger are the leather soles …. 'just could never get used to them. but, if they're EXACTLY like the soles on the 8" ENGINEER BLACK [Japanese] HORSEHIDE__ ie, Cat's Paw half-soles, i'm mosdef on board.
the mash-up:

Anyone have any interest in a short engineer boot? I think this would be radical for those who wear teh tapered denims. Thoughts?
-
How about these:
with this sole:

Well that's two of us. I still know very little about putting a build together. Don't really know whats what. But what is a Scout version?
your pic shows a service boot, mine a scout boot. I love the details on the scout, like the rolled top, the speed hooks and the pull loops.
-
@Russettipst: I love the look, though would prefer vibram without the treads, something flatter. Also would rather not have rough out, though I'm open to colors. What height are those?
-
I think the short shift is a 8" boot.
I'd be ok with some other sole perhaps (but think the one on the lower boot looks absolutely gorgeous), but unfortunately I'm only really interested in a rough out short shift boot. Preferably in black, but not necessarily.
-
Bummer! I already rough out so not looking for that…
-
Black waxed flesh would look good too though! Maybe a good compromise?
-
Yes those look awesome though I agree about the sizing. I'm a 10.5-11 and I've always thought I look silly when trying on engineers.
