@neph93
Your fitting looks great without soak.
I am considering tonal 33 , I should do nipples upgrade . What snap is this ?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very nice upgrade, @neph93. It definitely adds something. One thing I really like about the 33-ind is the contrast of the weft when you roll up the sleeves. It just seems nicer on this shirt than any other.

@Mustafa911 @Dion @wdw cheers fellas. I agree that the fit out of the bag is good. There’s room enough for the little bit of shrinkage that is to come. The material seems to have some give in it so I expect it to loosen up a bit with wear.
Guys, in your experience, does it shrink enough and fade quickly enough that getting rid of shrinkage first is wise to avoid weird comb shift at the elbows? Or can I wear it hard before a wash/soak?
@Mustafa911 they are the Good Art 12mm snaps. Better pic:

Thats a good question. I think it depends on how hot the water is. I’ve had three of these (trying to get the best fit) and what I ended up keeping was a XXL washed at 90c in a European washer. The others didn’t shrink hardly at all in an American washer (the ones I had access to didn’t get very hot). So, if you are planning on going with a 90c wash, then probably better to do it now.

I have 33 black and indigo. I washed both and didn’t notice a shrinkage .I regret washing indigo as I was expected shrinkage which never happened.
If I am you , i would not soak nor wash. Just my 2 cents .
My next indigo will go unsoak and unwash as long as I can

Bling-y nipples ??? Shall we just call them "blips" ?
-
@neph93 , I wear mine first and then wash. I'm not looking for shrinkage, I wash in cold water, which isn't really all that cold, hang dry. I do it with this shirt, the black denim, and the tonal version.

I'm following the to pre-wash or not to pre-wash -discussion with baited breath - circumstances (available sizes and the way they fit) willing, I'm picking one up locally this week. :o
Ended up grabbing this in XL. Initial impressions: Can I get away with wearing this and only this as my shirt for the next 2-3 seasons, or would this be considered a social passé and something some might frown upon? Actually, I don't really care.
Thanks @neph93 for being of big help trying to figure out the sizing; in the end I was able to confirm the fit before committing but your words proved true to the T.
Edit: Say… is the jury still out on whether to pre-wash or not to pre-wash? The fit is good regardless but wouldn't want to compromise them combs down the line… I'm steering towards "wash later, in 30'C with minimal agitation". The shirt won't be subjected to much anything of note, I'm a law student so sick elbow fades coming up but little else.

@Crit_Obs glad I could be of service. Buying expensive gear online and finding it doesn’t fit sucks. It’s great that the forum exists in part so we can help each other avoid that.
I share your attitude regarding this shirt. I’d like to wear it everyday. Sadly I have about four other shirts and a ton of vests I feel the same about [emoji1]
I decided to give mine a wash. Given that lots of shrinkage wasn’t really a requirement I soaked it thoroughly in warm water then washed on 40C and the lowest possible spin (400rpm). I haven’t taken measurements but I’d estimate that there was a little shrinkage in length (half an inch in body and arms) and negligable shrinkage in the width (mostly in the shoulder). I’m wearing it today for the first time post wash and can try to take measurements this evening so I can be more precise.
I think that if you stick to your 30C plan you’ll be fine. For my part, I now know I can wash at 40C without risking more shrinkage.
