There you have it!
I'll admit i've always kinda liked the Triumph Tiger but i never really thought i'd get one. I always tend towards the impractical but this is practical and a lot of fun to ride. Handles really well, the suspension is amazing and the engine has a decent amount of kick to it… and there's cruise control.
I'm looking forward to some long rides on it should the weather improve! Might do an offroad course too. Has anyone here ever done one?

@Graeme I thought it might surprise you. I wish it could have been a nice cafe racer of sorts but I know this bike will be great for all the long trips I want to do. I'm really pleased with it actually… more than I thought I would be.
The engine is great! I've not been able to put this one through its paces yet as I have a sticker on the tank telling me I shouldn't rev it over 5000 for the first 300 miles and I'm obeying, but the demo bike I took out was pretty speedy! Acceleration was pretty sharp it actually scared me because I wasn't expecting that type of bike to have such immediate acceleration! :o
The only issue I'm having is a helmet issue. The screen pushes wind into my face at high speeds and the Bell Bullitt visor is god awful! It rattles so loud that it's going to be unbearable over long distances. So, post helmet alternative here!

@Sam I was expecting something more on the impractical end of the scale. I thought that you might have gone for a BMW R nineT Scrambler or Urban G/S, or a K1300R.
Glad the engine is living up to its reputation, and may speed cameras look in the other direction to your progress.
The matching style for the Tiger would be an adventure helmet. Arai and Schuberth make a few, but the below are alternatives. However, I'd suggest traipsing around Urban Rider and The Bike Shed in London, and Motolegends in Guildford (who actually supply The Bike Shed) to see what you can find.
From an aesthetic point of view, I really like the Icon Variant Construct, which has a clear coat over a fibreglass shell.
The Schuberth E1 is a flip-fronted adventure style helmet. They're extremely quiet and pricy, but Touratech sell a version which is even more expensive if you feel the need to spend more.
Lastly, the Shark Explore-R. This comes with a visor and goggles, and the peak can be removed. It's an interesting design.

I put some good miles on it this weekend. Looking forward to taking on the rest of England soon!
Got any rides planned this summer? -
@Sam Congrats on the new bike. Being an old Harley guy,my bones joints could never handle a riding position like that. I'm sure it sails through the corners. Also if your girlfriend tells you that she's comfortable on that seat, she's a keeper. As far as helmets go I'm a big fan of the Nolan modular helmets. Got to see how good one works in an accident 5 years ago. Saved my head and face big time.

Thanks, @Jett129 I think you'd be comfortable on it though! Just got to get on it first. I even struggle to climb aboard sometimes. Haha yes, the girlfriend may be a keeper… although she's just quit smoking so one false move and I'm in the doghouse.
I'll check out that helmet... tried and crash tested and you've lived to tell the tale, can't think of a better advert than that. -
Great bike, I've got the XRX, first thing to do is get rid of the OE screen, I've got a Madstad which is great [emoji106]

By all means try a new helmet but the OE screen is famous for being shite, have a nosey around the tiger 800 forum. The Madstad made a massive difference, I also tried the triumph touring screen but that didn't work for me.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
