Thanks for the feedback @Graeme. Time to do more research.
The dealership near me doesn't have any R1200R to test drive, but should have most on the list.

Test drove the Multistrada today. Holy cow that's a fun bike. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I was impressed. It was surprisingly nimble. I guess that's the dual sport style.

i love that bike no one can make a bike look as nice as the italians

Hit 20k miles on my Duc yesterday. I'm working on my wife for the Multi. It's a demo so the 1200 miles already logged comes with a $3k discount. It's a steal! That's the story I'm sticking to.

Truth!

Oh man. On my way to sign papers. It'll be sad to let the Sport Classic go, but it's time. Pics to follow

That's a strong statement @Bluegrass, though I agree somewhat. Their forte are their classics and sport bikes. Don't under estimate some of the Japanese builders as of late though

im a harley guy as well ,but the italians do make the most beautifull bikes

First day commuting. Much more relaxed than the cafe racer position.
For me it comes down to a few basic requirements.
A good dealership that is easy to work with.
Exciting bike to look at, hear and most importantly ride.
Brakes & suspension. You can't go cheap on either IMO if you plan to really ride.

Thanks!

ah but do the mirrors wobble and vibrate at speed ?
-
I have new mirrors on the way, Rizoma dynamic. They don't wobble yet, but they will. I don't get why stock mirrors are always shit.

I feel the same way. I love the look of Harleys, but I prefer to ride sportier bikes.
