Anybody have some beat up Okinawas for some inspiration?
If you ask nicely, Snowy might take some more pictures of his…
I popped my Okinawa's out of the archive for a quick photo this afternoon. Really love this denim.
18 months of wear, 2 machine washes, 4 soaks.

Snowman, you are awesome. Can't wait to see some more pics of those beauties.

One of my regret sales, love Okinawa's.
-
Good thing, you can still get them whenever you are ready for them
-
It is, and I will at some point in the future (probably)

Read my mind (probably)

Yeah that would be interesting.
Buyer's remorse and also seller's remorse -
Here's some shots for you @Anesthetist
@Chris told you my patch held up well throughout the years. -
Interesting; do you wear a belt with them? The paint on my patch has already worn off more than yours and I've only worn them 3-4 times.
-
Thanks Snowy, that pair is beyond beautiful. I really like the different hues and the back pocket evo around the hidden rivets. Like Chris' patch, mine is showing a fair amount of wear already. My Tender belt is eating that poor patch alive.
-
just went through some old photos trying to find the belt I was wearing. I'm 99% sure it was a SC leather belt (as I've owned the belts since well before I bought the jeans). There's a 1% chance I was just wearing a cotton belt during a vegan phase I had, but can't correlate the time period.
I know I used to cycle in the jeans every day to work, so either way there was a lot of movement in them, and they were never babied.
-
Cotton belt because of your vegan phase but snakeskin patch on the jeans is ok? You weren't very committed, were you?

Are there any (good) denim brands that use non-leather patches?
Levis has those faux leather paper patches and True Religion uses embroidered patches, but I can't think of any others off the top of my head. This is the kind of thing Tillman would know…
-
…well...maybe he does.
generally, you can look at all accurate '60s models the Japanese brands (or other) offer. Those have also the paper patches. And I do remember OOE and some oterh brands offered woven labels.
Paper patch brands: Denime, TCB, Devi's, Fullcount...
Woven label: Ande Whall did this too and I think some Warehouse models -

Stevenson! All their jeans use paper patches:
