Though I don't have that version, I own Viberg's leather sole 110 boondockers and The Real McCoy corded sole boondockers (N-1s).
I can say that, asides from the aesthetic, the corded sole offers a great level of comfort when walking and seems really durable.
Does anyone know the last Viberg are using for their version?

looks almost like the 2040 or 2045 to me!? @Aries
the first/original boondocker is built on the 2030 last (see www.superdenim.com) and the newer boondocker version is built in the 2045 last (see www.viberg.com)!*looks like they've changed that recently! thanks @Sugar Mountain for getting it right!

The standard Boondocker is built on the 2045 last these days and the above version looks like it is on that last. I agree on the 2030 that it is a little too low-profiled and slim in the toe to look like a military boot. I'm not keen on the 1035 last version available from Superdenim either but then a lot of people love those two versions.

Those Boons look much nicer to me now with those raw cord soles. Remind me of the boots that MadMonday had resoled by Brian (not boons but similar colour and same sole) and turned out awesome

I like the leather sole on the boondocker

I used to feel the same way about the cord soles. I had only ever seen them on super cheap looking vintage boots in thift stores. But now that I have the Dr. Soles Raw Cord soles on my Scouts, I love them.
