I don't always wear service boots, but when I do, I wear Viberg.

the revival of this thread.

@Broark I really liked the completely unstructured version of the Ropers that Viberg sampled a few years back.
-
I'm of a similar mind- I can understand them trying new things and working to expand their customer base, but I lost interest a long time ago. I love my Viberg boots, but I doubt I'll be buying another pair.

FINALLY dropped my babies of at the cobbler's… He's gonna refurbish the Vibram sole, then add a thin black rubber sole... He said those are "indestructible", so it won't wear down the Vibram sole... I reckon it'll give me lotsa grip, and in the long end I'll only have to have the thin black rubber sole re-newed now and then...
He loved them btw... Picked 'm up.. "These are heavy!.. Good product!.."
Ok... Now commencing the firm clenching of the bottoms til I can pick 'm up on Friday...

Seul, which cobbler do you use?

Hey guys, I'm interested in some Viberg service boots in the 2030 last, I've got a few questions:
- I wear 11.5 in shoes like Vans, Converse, and PF Flyers. Am I correct that I'd want a 10.5 in these?
- I've read some stuff (I think on StyleForum) saying that the Service Boot looks weird in sizes larger than 9.5 or so, and I've seen a few examples that look "off". Does anyone here have a pair of 2030 Service Boots somewhere around 10.5, that could give me a good idea how they look?
- What are alternatives I should consider? I want a slim profile boot with a cap toe and Dainite sole, somewhere between a more rugged style and a dressier style, which will look good with slim fitting jeans. I LOVE the look of the RRL Livingston boot, which nails what I'm looking for, but at $990, they're way overpriced. I'd be open to something like the Red Wing Beckman, but I don't mind paying right around the Viberg price range.
