Wallets, Chains, and Reins

I'm guessing you guys saw the Teranishi stuff. I've handled his wallets and they are nice, but damn the prices have near tripled. Anyway, nice job Summer it looks great!

Thanks all for the compliments! It was the Teranishi wallets that caught my attention. It was a fun and functional little project, but I know it's light years away from their masterpieces.

I picked up a Tush wallet off NoKipple.
It's beautifully made, and feels as though it would survive the zombie apocalypse unscathed. Though what you'd need a wallet for without money is a different question, I suppose it could double up as a bludgeon.
Half of me loves it, and the other half thinks it's too feckin' big!

Thanks. I think that it's horsehide with tendon stitching. It's a beast.
I'm just trying to get over the size issue, and the temptation to get the IH silver motorcycle chain to dangle it off…

I've eyed up that wallet on many an occasion. I'm glad you picked it up, it is definitely a thing of beauty.

Not to mention hideously expensive! (But truly glorious)

I've been using this Kawatako card case for a few weeks now and I love it. I can hold 4 cards (2 each on the outside slits) and a few bills and receipts on the middle pocket.

I was chatting to one of the guys in American Retro yesterday, and he mentioned he'd got a wallet by Baldwin. I've got a feeling it was made from goatskin.
The company is UK based, and pretty new. Everything is handsewn, prices seem reasonable, and they even do an iPhone wallet in a Redmoon style. It's the second photo down.

Look pretty decent!

What's up, here's my John Faler made (or Faler Brand) mid length wallet in Horween's Natural Essex. I had originally told him that I wanted a mid wallet in natural vegetable tanned leather, but, he said he had had several wallets made from nvt leather in the past and that Horween's natural Essex kill's it, especially as it evolves. He told me several times that he thought I my expectations would be more than exceeded if I were to let him make me a wallet. Was he ever right. This wallet is perfection and I am by no means easy to please. I can find something wrong with anything, except this wallet. The natural Essex is buttery soft and smells like the shoe dept. in Belks Dept. store, lol. I absolutely love it. If anyone reading this is thinking about getting a new wallet, I highly suggest you email John Faler. He responds quickly and his work is better than most in my opinion. The whole transaction was flawless and I couldn't be happier. Here's my wallet after about a week of wear. I've had it for around a month, but, there's only been a few occasions where I could wear jeans. I included a couple of my favorite watch too, hope ya'll don't mind! Thanks!

Here are a few more pics of my Faler Brand wallet in Horween Natural Essex leather. This leather is so awesome. I think it's fairly new to the leather world. It's cowhide that has been given the same treatment process as Shell Cordovan and it is AMAZING. These pics are after about a week of actually wearing my wallet. I've had it for around a month, I've just only had the opportunity to wear jeans for about a week, so that's why I'm saying these pics are after about a week of actually wearing. Sorry about the quality. All I have to use, camera wise, is my phone. I couldn't hold still enough on a couple of them but, you can still get the gist of what I'm trying to show. John Faler really has a gift.

Nice!

10 months in with the WC now, had the camera out, took some good snaps. It's really coming along!!!!
5 months, thought to snap a picture tonight;
My daily wallet, after 2 other wallets throughout the year, I've settled onto this for at least a year. Really like how it's progressing, now @ 3 months of daily usage;

Keeping with the "Wild Child" theme, here is mine. Around four years old.
I love the styling and layout of the simple bill-fold with credit card slots. I must admit to be hunting around for a similar size wallet with the same basic layout but thinner.
I find the Wild Child wallet can sometimes be a bit thick and cumbersome when getting it out of your front jeans pocket. I will wait for the "tight wallet" jokes now I have queued them up nicely.

In a few months I will have an awesome contribution to this thread.
The WC is nice, but to be honest I found the vertical slots pretty cumbersome…

I find them practical. I open my wallet to use the RFID reader for sydney trains and know I can wave the wallet about without worrying about if the cards will stay put or not.
