Wallets, Chains, and Reins

@Baba-san, I'm tempted by a Piecewrks Leathercraft zip wallet. They're compact, have the option of a D-ring for a lanyard, and the stitching looks really tidy. The downside is that it's a Japanese microbrand, so there might be language issues…
Their Instagram feed is probably the best place to start. They also have an online store hosted by Creema if you want to place an order.
Gotta check that out. Looks killer

Custom Horween CXL horsehide wallet by After Midnight London.
8 card slots (2 hidden) and adjustment to make cash section more accessible, wallet chain attachment and Ri-Ri zipper.
Delivered today, very pleased with the results. Exactly what I wanted.

Until the IHG-089 is back in stock ( :P), I decided to downsize my wallet to an old one that I used for many years. Made in the hill country of Texas (Fredericksburg specifically), this little guy has aged so, so well. I have it next to an another card holder/wallet from the same maker as a comparison.

Custom Olive Horween CXL card holder that I had made by After Midnight. Really pleased with it and Karl was a pleasure to deal with.
This is very intriguing @Cutlasshound . I wonder if there is an option to use a larger or more elongated chain loop. I'd love a card holder I can use with a wallet chain as an option. Right now I go in between a Wild Child and a Flat Head card wallet depending on what I'm doing. This might offer the best of both worlds since I rarely carry cash anymore.

You could certainly ask the question.
Have two things made by him now and both re seriously beautiful. Both were entirely custom and if memory serves the short zip wallet was the first he has made.
The horsehide zip wallet is a bit larger so gets less use as a result at the moment, but that is probably a function of lockdown and not going out. The olive cardholder is my general goto and I like the fact that its a bit bigger than the other cardholders I own.
I was a bit worried at first as to how they would turn out but they are both awesome and the price was incredibly reasonable imo

BLB, spring ring, shorty with big eye, and GAH card satchel. I no sooner got my chain figured out and some biker stole it off me.

Nice !

@Cutlasshound I'm glad I came across your After Midnight pics — I'd never heard of the brand and some of their offerings are pretty much exactly what I've been looking for. Trucker wallet that's not too long, veg tan, nice pocket config. Thank you for sharing – stoked!

That is the Pigeon Tree Crafting logo…

^ Exactly @neph93 It is from PTC, the minimalist wallet.
Any ideas on how to get the indigo out of the wallet? I tried wiping it out with a damp cloth. I could get some of the indigo out, but still a substantial amount is left.

It might be easier to embrace the patina. I think it looks rad! Plus it’s yours, not another one like it in the world!!!

I was trying to break that to him gently

Yeah… it’s there now. Saddle soap will remove quite a lot of it, but that will also turn the wallet another colour, and will still not remove all of it.
To be fair, getting veg tan fugged up by indigo is sort of why vegtan exists, or at least why it is of interest to people around here.

Teranishi Studio went to great lengths to replicate the effect that @the246guy's wallet developed naturally.

I was thinking how to get a patina like this: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3812.msg292278#msg292278
and a patina like this: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3812.msg292139#msg292139Is that a patina from Indigo? Looks not or?
