@BloodnThunder yeah it's a bummer but really I think it's probably for the best — those weren't my faves by a long shot, but I was kinda just scrambling for whatever I could get. Pretty lightweight denim, buckle back (not bad but I'd rather not have that tbh). I really want something like the S+S collab 505s they did, more of just a classic 5 pocket. Mari's got me marked down to be notified, but frankly I just have zero idea of when they'll be making anything like that. Sigh!

Did anyone else pick up a pair of the new Standard & Strange NYC Ooes? I got some — they're really, really killer.
No fit pics yet because I haven't soaked em — they're pretty big at the moment. That said, I ended up getting a slightly smaller size (35) than I may have normally gotten, because Mari recommended doing an on-body soak. She said it's good to aim for these being pretty trim post-soak, as they'll stretch back out — sounds like a plan.
The concept of wearing jeans in the tub has always been a ridiculous concept to me, but alas the denim disease has gotten its hooks fully in, haha.
Anyway, guess I'll wait until the weather's back in the 80s to do that. So in Texas, probably January.

I found that this recent Ooe x S&S pair shrinks predictably but you will need to do it twice to get all the shrink out. I bought 36 to get a 34 and that's right where it is. They are still pretty loose but the fit in the thigh and knee suits me well–-much like IH 634. I put my in the wash on a no spin cycle and hung them up. I prefer a heavier weight denim for most of the year----I get 7+ months of very cold weather---and my daily go-to is IH-XHS.

ahh nice @profdbrk thank you! That's super helpful. I usually need a pair of jeans with a 12" rise to be about 33" post soak, then they'll stretch out a bit, so the fact that you lost about 2" seems perfect.
I've heard the bit about them shrinking again after the first soak. Pretty interesting, and good to confirm that it happened to you too. I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I have to admit, when I first saw this collaboration piece with standard and strange I made a hard pass on it. My style has been moving out of Heritage as of late. Definitely still in IronHeart, but less denim on denim, etc. BUT! Some part of my brain wouldn’t let this one go, though and before I knew it I was pining for it even though I missed the pre-order. Standard strange had one sz42 left over so I had to give it a shot.
Depending on the vest, I like a more tailored fit and I think HAD I preordered, I might’ve bought a 40? I am pretty on the cusp. Over a tee, the fit is a little bit roomier than I would normally rock, however it’s very comfortable and I think looks pretty great. Apologies for the baggies, it is still super hot and muggy
Construction is some of the finest I have ever seen and I have seen a lot. It is denim faced inside as well as out and the denim is a heritage pattern recreates by Japan Blue. It is surprisingly hefty compared to other vests I own, almost comparable to an IH vest. Overall it is a beautiful thing that I am both excited about and happy to own.

Hell yeah

@Anesthetist what are those shorts? They look great.
-
@Palmer nothing special, just old Patagonia Baggies. I think I have 5 pairs now and live in them most of the summer.
-
@steelworker thanks man, I figured this might be up your alley as well
