@goosehd both the 555 and 666 work for me, IMO. The 777 is borderline low, although I suspect that it may fit better in a lighter (read thinner) fabric. 888 could also be an option which I have yet to try. The one cut that I would exclude is the 634 because the leg opening is too wide for my liking
-
@Tago-Mago …and precisely why I love IH. There are enough options where there is something for almost everyone.

I def prefer a taper. Both the 777 and 888 are great, but I usually look for a slimmer, lower rise 888. The 777 is just a little too slim when the waist fits.
-
@goosehd it took me a little trial and error to get my fit right. My first pair were 16oz 555 slubs and thought they were great, until they stretched a bit too much in the waist as I’d sized for comfort. Sold those on and tried 777’s and the rear rise was way too low. Tried 888’s and I personally liked them but it was a hard no from my wife. Went back to the 555 two tag sizes down from my original 16oz slubs and nailed every pair since. I do like the look of the 634 on other people but after wearing slim fit jeans in my teenage years and early twenties they just won’t look right on me that and my wife would object
-
@Tago-Mago yeah definitely, I like to be able to see a good chunk of whatever is on my feet at the time. On paper the 888 makes the most sense for me, high rise, roomy thigh, taper to a narrow opening… and my wife laughed when I tried them on. 555’s fit me fantastic. I’ve not actually tried on a pair of 634’s, or think there’s much point, they are so far out of my comfort zone. Maybe when I’m older?
