IH-666S - The Devil's Fit Indigo - Slim Tapered
-
@volcano:
…the scene when i tried to squeeze into the denim yesterday was epic. needed both my 2 sisters to help me button up the last one....
Ahhh, the old '2-Sister" Trick!
Alas I have no sisters - they might have come in handy during my failed solo effort at squeezing into a size 34 devils fit OD a while back.
-
anyway I wasn't lying and it was seriously hard to button up the jeans. as encountered by many guys here, my thumb was sore and bruised and the button was like halfway inside the hole only. frustrating but funny at the same time.
at that time I emailed Giles informing him that maybe the jeans was too small for me. then my sisters saw me and said the cutting looks fine so they helped me with it. if I had a pic of it, I'm sure it'll be a very good testimony that IH jeans are indeed very very tough. and after we managed to button it, I could slide 1 hand in which means the size that Giles adviced was spot on!
anyway now even my parents and my sister's friends know about it. girls really can't keep secret I must say.
-
What happened to the "like" button? Did we break it? Cuz I "like" volcano. He should have video recorded his 3 person fitting session so we could have compared it to how ridiculous the rest of us must look breaking our fingers trying to get into new jeans. My wife still shakes her head at me.
haha I got another pair coming up. the 634S is also in W33 and if it also hard to button, I'll use the same trick and take a picture.
but the problem I had with the 666S was the thigh area. now my thigh area doesn't have any spaces left. almost like a skinny. but the knee and calves area are roomy.
-
the front and back view of the 666S. 2nd day wearing it. still having problem keeping and taking out my wallet. would it stretch after using longer? I mean the pocket where we keep our wallet.
-
OT: sizing up might explain that, and I think even W38" can be slim built or is "lanky" correct expression?
Short and sturdy folks just should admit that they are short and sturdy. But hey, if you like what you see in the mirror, then it's all good. I guess… and again IM(H)O.

Good point…
-
nah I dont prefer skinny jeans but I dont wanna risk looking like a hip hop wannabe.
-
yeah will do. now it's still stiff and tight. maybe cos it's just the 2nd day. thanks guys for the help.
-
hmm. does anyone know how much the leg opening shrinks by post soak?
I think the 666OD fit is perfect, main thing thats stopping me from buying a 666s right now
is the wider leg opening, but looking at fit pics of other users with size 33 im rather encouraged, it may not be as big as i think
im just used to wearing slim tapered denim such as 301s…se05bsp etc -
I would never call these jeans "skinny" or say they are only for skinny people. All of that is relative. The only thing I can say with certainty is that the 666S fit is slimmer than the 634S cut. I would say that the 666S cut in waist size 34 and above actually gives "chunkier" guys the illusion of what the size 32 634S's look like on "skinnier" guys(which look great IMHO).
I'm 5'8" 225lbs and could care less whether I wear a 32 or a 36 or a M or XXXL, I don't give a fuck.
The 666S fit me WAY better than the 634S. I've had the 634S in size 34 and 36 and they are just not for me. I feel like once you get to size 34 waist and above pared with size 32 inseam and below, the wider/straight cuts don't do that person justice compared to a slimmer thigh to hem ratio. Maybe I got lucky with my pair of 666S after they soaked, I honestly don't know. But they are my favorite pair by far.I've owned(if only for a short time) the following cuts.
634S sz34 and 36
634XHS sz34
666S sz36
666od sz36
9634 sz33(stretched to 36in waist) Fit amazing

Fuck yeah… Try lotsa brands, try lotsa models...
so true,,,thats the good thing about these types of Japanese jeans,,,they can all be traded/sold/moved on a damn sight easier than mass produced shite,,,my mums words not mine,,,she hates the washed out look thats around now,,,much prefers the dark indigo of the stuff i wear,,,apart from when im sitting on her white throws on her sofa

Did you stretch the inseam at all while drying, to reduce shrinkage? Interested that you only lost 1 inch in the inseam, I would have expected a little more.
