He has not removed my images, despite saying that he had, so I have now called him out publicly and reported him to Facebook. Fucking freak.

I can tell that you've left the farm for the wild.
Get back on the reservation or I'll release the hounds!

Oh shit he's gone feral again

Have you lost weight? You're looking better than usual, but I can't put my finger on exactly why.

Took today off work as TOIL for crazy amounts of over time over past few months. All approved and communicated
5am this morning I turn my work phone off so I won't get any early/late morning wake-up calls.
10am when I finally get up I see 14 missed calls from work relating to an outage that started @ 530am.Calls were from my team members, my manager, and others who knew I had TOIL today, as well as a few who didn't. I can't work every incident, it's unfair on the company to have a single guy across everything, it prevents learning and sharing throughout the team and wider org. I HATE playing hero, which jumping on every incident also does.
Now I need to keep off e-mail phone for the rest of the day. Am sure I'll get sucked into the vortex as soon as I write something.

Stand firm Snowy!! Prob is these days.. Once you show them your a performer they milk the shit out you till your sucked dry. Working for the military for 17yrs was no different.
-
Thanks gents. I kept it as TOIL, no comms to/from them for the day. As you've said, gotta stand firm or I'm doing myself a dis-service; F-That, respect starts with the self. And being 5pm I'd call that "safe". Went for a lovely lazy swim this afternoon, beautiful way to spend the afteroon

I had a recruitment agent call me up about an Android development job with a digital agency in London a week ago. As is common they wanted candidates to do a coding test first, but I didn't get around to doing it because I went to Potsdam and Amsterdam instead.
I had another call about a different role with the agency, and they wanted the test doing. It involved writing a couple of custom UI controls, and a routine to pull down data from an external server. There's nothing complicated about what they want, but it'd be time consuming to do it properly. I estimated at least a day, but I could reuse some code for the server comms.
So I wrote them an email pointing out that the amount of work as a programming test was excessive; they didn't supply a clear and complete spec; and the assets were initially supplied as a Photoshop file, rather than the standard PNG format used in app development.
I get a bit grumpy about these tests because they take up a lot of time, are normally run as a first round filter before you even speak to the end client, and frequently you don't hear back from them upon completion, or find that the job has already been filled.
It'll be interesting to see what they come back with tomorrow.
