Random Rants

Welcome to the last 25 years of beer production in the UK, nice of you to catch up.
-
I had a coconut IPA a couple of weeks ago. A collaboration between Brewdog and a craft brewery in Bristol… 7.4% ABV. I don't know why exactly, I forgot to ask due to beer induced memory loss, but it was called "Pirate Badger Attacks" :). Possibly something to do with the ill thought out badger cull that has been attempted recently at massive cost and no real effect. It caused one politician to complain that "The badgers keep moving the goal posts" and thus, another meme was born.
So, there are good craft breweries out there. But as you say, as soon as something is seen as a profitable way for breweries to obtain a larger market share, the world and his wife has to bring out a range of craft beers. Which of course does nothing but turn people away from craft beer if all they are served is crap...

chocolate banana oatmeal stout,hmmmm…... if I drank I believe this would be the death of me.

I love you Rogue, but this is a sin: http://rogue.com/beers/voodoo-chocolate-peanut.php
-
really? Bringing two distinctly unique Oregon brands together and doing something creative is a sin? Interesting…
-
I know I'd buy it, just because I've never had anything quite like it. Maybe it will be good, maybe it won't, but Rogue has my respect for trying new stuff.
As far as I'm concerned, the only sins a brewery can commit are laziness and bad pun names.
-
I would be so surprised if that actually tastes good.
-
u supposed to have it with the donut?
so I can have a snack and a brew at the same time? Sounds like every friday night at the weekdays, hahahaha
-
I've had good chocolate stout and good banana bread stout; I suspect it's possible to add a little peanut butter flavor to the mix and not suck.
The more I think about it, the more I want to try this one.
-
I can almost guarantee you can find that abomination in Houston Chris should you want to try it. The "free range coastal water" is key!

Don't know these brands but I'm always way way way down to try something new… I had sours based on prunes and strawberry this summer for pete's sake!..
The more I think about it, the more I want to try this one.
Yes!..

I am as well. This one was a miss for me. Southern Tier's Creme Brûlée stout? Not.

I love the idea of these collabs and have great respect for Rogue as a brewery, but the execution of the beers in the Vodoo Donuts series is very subpar.
Rogue's pumpkin beer this year is absolutely fantastic though, and their Beard Beer is great as well…

A weird dessert beer can be good. That Creme Brûlée stout was awesome and made a great beer float.
Southern Tier also makes a tremendous pumpkin ale.

Surprised that the mods haven't jumped all over this thread mutation and moved it to the beer thread ;). Possibly too busy drinking.
And to get back on topic:
The fucking *bay buyer that hit me with a list of demands for how he wanted the item he had won packaged. And then finished the message off with "I'll release the payment when you reply to this message"… Wanker...
Right finished ranting. Please carry on with the beer discussion

The mods are useless around here. Probably haven't even noticed the thread derailment yet. Giles should fire the whole bloody lot…
