White's Boots

Looks like a sueded bison, but I'm not positive about that.
-
getting more comfy as leather breaks in slowly….

hey natehate, its a brown smooth leather smokejumper on the standard last.

Nice looking boots Insane…
Im thinking about another build for sometime around April. Im thinking a semi dress in brown horsehide, double leather sole and a block heel. not sure about hardware, but I have time to think this up.

here are pics of said cracking…..

Thinking about ordering my first pair of White's, and will probably order a pair of horse hide semi dress, can anyone explain the difference(s) in the available lasts (standard, swing, 38)? Send a mail to Bakers, but maybe someone here knows? Thanks.
The Swing Last (3) is quite noticeably wider across the toe; the 461 Last has the "sprung toe," or turned up like the old style work boot that they'd pull of the lake in the cartoons… I think the 461 looks very cool, but it is pretty noticeably turned up.
Here are comparative pics in a link from another forum:

Salami, that "cracking" is normal. If you feel the need, hit it with Obenaufs or tsomething similar, but its not really necessary.
-
they dont buddy have you seen them in person?
No man haven't had the priveledge to see alot of whites in person..

Yeah that looks completely normal to me, supersally!..
Oh thank god…
-
boots starting to break into shape!
no water seems to ever seep through the leather!
-
I couldn't do it either bigger man than I am

from my experience the buffalo uppers are actually rather soft and need no breaking in and the soles of this thickness will never get soft anyway. You just take advantage of the rocking sensation, but don't expect them to soften.
My standard leather SJ's are still very rigid despite some heavy abuse and are best worn laced only half way up. the (Armageddon) buffalo SJ's i got from mecha are very soft in comparison.
