It's both possible and easy. The block heel is no problem at all, and lowering it is only a problem if you want to drop it more than a 1/4" inch or so. Any more than that and you'll start to mess with the orientation of the last and the intended weight distribution and other mechanics that I'm not enough of an expert to know, let alone explain.
You can send the pair in to White's or Baker Shoe, or just find a trustworthy local cobbler to do it. I had a bootmaker here in Houston do it for me on a pair of cowboy boots and it took a couple of days and maybe 40-50 bucks.
That's what you get for skateboarding…

Great posts the last days - makes my craving for some whites stronger and stronger. Unfortunately I won't be able to afford them in the next months and I won't buy boots in the summer. But maybe next fall
