White's Boots
-
Picked these up in Knoxville, Tennessee when i drove across country after i graduated from college. They are pretty much a standard semi-dress but in a distressed leather which i hadn't really seen much of before. Def. the best boots I've had, they guy said they be night and day against the iron rangers i was wearing… he was def. correct.
Had them just about 1.5 years now

They look amazing.

Need some help
these are my Smoke Jumpers ( i was told they were when i bought them) I'm going to get rid of, heres the thing: i have no idea what leather they are. i don't want to sell them and label them as something wrong. any help would be much appreciated.
i mean they look, black , but they have like a reddish tone to them. and the feeling of them is different. I'm thinking possibly horsehide or buffalo???
are they even whites?
Thanks

Looks like Smoke Jumpers, not sure they are White's. Is White's stamped anywhere on the boot? The way the boot is stitched and the last looks like White's. As far as the leather, they don't look like buffalo to me - maybe horse, although thats not so common in White's. "Looks" like standard black cowhide, but hard to tell. Looks like these have been used as work boots, so less likely that it's an exotic leather imo. The double leather on the inner sides of the boots is also unusual, more like a lineman boot feature?? I don't see that feature offered as a White's option on Baker's…

^Was gonna say White's Lineman as well:

I'm really starting to warm up to the lace-to-toe style, something is never had considered a year ago.
And I'm starting to like the look of the Cuban heel… what's happening to me!

LOVE curved heels - feel like I lived 50 years in the dark. Here in the midwest U.S. you never see cuban heels on work boots, only cowboy boots… Who knew? And I agree with everyone on Lace To Toe, it is perhaps an acquired taste, something I have grown to appreciate. But I got onto the curved heels right away, just loved the look from the first time I saw it.

Cuban heels = walking on cloudy and fluffy clouds.

My next pair will have them. As it is, I wish I had spec'd then on my current pair of BH.

@Anesthetist I am with you, had the same "problem" with my first BH´s, but I traded the pair. I have a pair SJ´s with the cuban heel, and they are awesome!

Might have to see if Brian could do that mod.

Hope so!!! German cobblers dont like american workboots

Whites isn't stamped anywhere, but the sizing 10 1/2 C is the same style lettering as my semi-dresses located in the same place too. – with the "c" sizing option I'm thinking that i guess they could be a custom boot, but not entirely sure.
that little extra piece of leather has been confusing to me too def. more like the lineman for sure
anyone else have any ideas???

I am still totally on board with the straight heel. I understand the functionality of the Cuban, but it will always look weird to me…
