J Crew/Wallace & Barnes
-
So I am in no way saying J Crew quality, construction, etc is on the level of our beloved IH. But I know others like I have office jobs and/or have to spend a little less on some items sometimes. With that said, I have been really impressed with the cut, quality, and modern style of a lot of J Crew pieces I have purchased. Yes, I don't like that some of them are probably made in shitty factories I wish they weren't. But I do think they try to stay current, and they have a credit card. My red buffalo check wool flannel is awesome.
Bonus: They offer regular and slim cuts.

My favorite selvedge chino of the moment are the Wallace & Barnes 11 1/2 oz sanforized selvedge chino.
Tagged sized 31 which is really a 33. Have a pair in tagged 30 as well bUT the 32 waist isnt so comfy.
My best fitting chino without any hemming or tappering.
Jcrew Oxford slim fit in size medium are my go to shirts for at.least 2.or.3.days.out.of the.week.inexpensive great return policy always on sale and last a pretty long time.
Fit flicks.after
My phone keeps putting (.) no idea why

JCrew has always been my "basics" staples. Right now my favorite piece is a Japanese chambray popover.
My favorite all time boots are the JCrew version of the Indy boot with a marshmallow sole - which has held up to daily wear and tear extremely well.
Since 2014
I also love their suiting. It's easy to mix and match size pants and jackets as I have a larger pant size than would classically correspond to jacket size. I even wore a JCrew Ludlow Suit and their Ludlow wing tips for my wedding haha

pretty awesome @Appfaff
a lot of folks give J Crew sh!t for various reasons (some I agree with, some are pure snobbery) but I've always thought they bring a lot of looks & brands to "middle America"

I agree @madmonday - Jcrew is not going to win any humanitarian awards for the way they produce their goods, but they offer something special when compared to other brands priced similarly. I too love how they bring a lot of cool brands into the "know" for us in the USA like Chimala and their Co-Op pieces from Dickies, Ac'teryx (I'm too lazy to look up how it is actually spelled haha) and commes de garcons are nice additions.
Plus, anyone lucky enough to have gotten any of the Warehouse Colabs they did back in 2010 were LUCKY!
Heck, all my travel gear is Jcrew, as is practically my wife's entire wardrobe.
This was a cool article about the men's designer that switched the brand around a few years back: http://www.esquire.com/style/mens-fashion/a19885/everyone-wears-j-crew-032013/

For all the Jcrew x NB collab fans… this one is a bit different and I dig it.

Awesome pics @Appfaff thanks for sharing. I have found some great J Crew deals recently. Gray desert boots, some NB collabs, and a pea coat brand new on the super cheap. Guess it pays to buy out of season.
