Thx for the compliments, gents!
Full build specs:
WESCO custom packers
MP Toe last
Black tie domain leather (the new stuff)
7" height
Unlined
Brass eyelets and hooks
Single midsole
269 soles
Standard heel height and thread color
Unstained, natural trim finish (that I hand finished with Fiebings trim kote)Only beef is they initially finished the trim black, and I returned them. Rather than putting new soles/heels on them they sanded off the black, which means there is still black on the majority of the top edges (you would have to remove the soles and stitching to sand it off which they didn't do). It doesn't look bad or awkward per se, but would have preferred to have the entire leather portion of the soles be natural. I'm cool though. Not the end of the world (black on black was hideous though!)

New set of workbooks arrived today. Stock "Groundout" style boot.
Really well put together boots, seems a shame to take them offshore and get them covered in all kinds of muck.
The IH Wesco boots will be amazing, Wesco construction and IH styling will be a brilliant combination.
Picked up some Obenaufs recently and this is about to get applied to the boots. Nice sunny day where I am so conducive to boot oil application and also a cold malted beverage! Happy days!

do you find those heels ok to walk in (not as dumb as it sounds) i bought a pair of red wing boots in a similar style but after years of wearing flat crepe style boots redwings etc i couldnt get on with the heels its a shame as i would love a pair of boots like those .

not tried walking for any great distances in them yet so can't really comment. My current offshore workbooks have a heel rather than a flat sole, not as pronounced a heel as the Wesco boot but they are good to walk in.
I will report back after my next work hitch and let you know how I get on with them. Personally I am more concerned with getting used to lacing the boots up as my old boots have a handy side zip. I asked Wesco if they would make me a custom pair with side zips and I was politely told "no" due to strength and longevity.

forgot to mention that Wesco also offer a reduced size heel option of up to ½" in their custom build boots.
Wesco custom builds also offer Vibram 1010, 1275, 132, and 4014 sole options which all have low rise heels.
You could build a boot with a heel that in terms of lift is not too far away from the flat Christy style soles you are used to on Redwing boots.

@ harleydave: You mean the RW Loggers? When I upgraded to Vibergs from RW I found the higher heels strange to walk in in the beginning. But you get used to it pretty quick (and gain some extra height).

It does not matter what height the heel is as long as the weight is properly distributed between the heel and the ball of the foot. Wesco boot are usually super comfortable in that respect because they have lasts for each variation of boot (and they know what they are doing - which always helps)

Sounds great!!!
