Non IH jackets and outerwear

You look like you should be slowly following Sylvester Stallone, while he runs through snow, in a Communist Limosine (brilliant name for a band btw).
For anyone else sad enough to get that movie reference
"If he dies, he dies."

Let me preface by stating, as a noob I searched everywhere for a proper place for this, but after several days and the recent Millitaria thread by 4C, this idea formed as a solution to a few things that just don't quite fit elsewhere. If anyone else has a better suggestion, kindly point me in the right direction.
As the title suggests, this thread is for miscellaneous outerwear, but I will define my thought process a bit better. Many of us have quality items that may not come from a majorly known label, in some cases a complete lack of knowledge can exist as to it's origins. This can be true of wool, cotton, poly, and leather made garments that run the gauntlet of function from hats to gloves to coats or jackets and can vary from brand spanking new to the most gnarly of vintage. This thread is meant to not only showcase these items, but to ask your peers relevant questions and spread further knowledge of these often dirt cheap finds that can be had if one knows what to look for. Share your stories of acquisition, post pics of the gear, ask questions. You know, what the IH forum does so well.
To kick things off, I have a beautiful vintage jacket that hits on a lot of the possibilities for this thread. For starters, I have absolutely no idea who made it. It doesn't have a label, and from the looks of it, it never has. It is a beautifully aged horsehide jacket and I will try my best to do it's details justice in these pictures and subsequent descriptions.
Though the lighting is horrible today, the tones that only a horsehide jacket can produce are evident.
The wool that lines the shell is magnificent. It has a beautiful herringbone weave that is both tough and wonderfully soft.
The sleeves are lined with a very nice duck cloth, providing extra warmth and comfort.
Some more pictures of the leather, so supple, so pretty.
This coat is amazing, even more so when one considers I picked it up for $20 at a rummage sale. It is missing the belt that was originally with it, and any advice on where to pick up a proper replacement is appreciated. Also if anyone wants to take a stab at identifying it's origins, or suggestions on what it looks like, feel free. I could likely keep this thread going on my own, but I have a feeling others will find use here and the attempt won't be in vain.

Burberry Raw Denim Trench Coat. I'm not a fan of the brand, but quite like this.
-
Oh hell no :o

I admire your willingness to think outside the box, @Graeme, as well as your willingness to post an item like that here, where it will get little love.
I have to admit, I kinda dig the scarf.
-
I figured that it wouldn't get much love because it's not made in Japan, and it's not a Type 2 or 3. People haven't exactly been rushing out to buy the First Zip, which is one of my favourite Iron Heart pieces.
The fact that it's atypical is why I like it.
Will I get one? Probably not, though it'd be fun for the Denim World Championship. But I'll probably keep an eye out for it in the next Burberry sale…

And that perspective is why I enjoy your posts.
If you do pick up one at a reasonable price, I hope you'll share your impressions.

Honestly couldn't have said it better myself!

I have been searching for the perfect winter/fall jacket that I can easily take on the bike and also wear somewhat "dressed" up. Tall order IMO. I had the IHM-10, beautiful jacket, just not exactly a perfect fit for me. Tried the IHJ-37, fit great, but not perfect. So I have been debating dropping more serious coin on another attempt, and I did….
Schott Tanker, I think this one will stay with me...I got Schott to send me size chart for the jacket, M or L could work, went with a large due to the 24oz wool inside so I could still layer if need be. Chest is 24 1/4", length 25 1/2"(only slight worry, but we shall see), shoulder 19 1/2", sleeve 27 1/4"
I should have her in by Friday, can't wait!

@Finkster I just meant the bottom two photos. Top one is a dif guy, just great photo.
Mail says Thursday. If I love it, like always, tons of bragging….i mean fit pics

Shirt is 3 sixteen. SOP Ben never strays from the brands he carries at his shop. Excited to hear your thoughts on the jacket when it comes.
